"I don't dribble, shoot, or tackle".
probably not great on yr CV, tom. but on the bright side, it's enough to make you an England regular for the next ten years.
Gotta feel sorry for the guy. He is very talented but is playing in the wrong midfield at the wrong time to be a 'Tom Cleverley' type figure.
The third #askCarrick: “You can travel back in time. Do you kill Hitler or stop Cleverley being born?"
Damn
I think we would all really like him to do well, academy product, Manchester lad, supporter just like us, unfortunately i just dont think he brings enough to the team.

True, but in some ways I'd have to say he's been one of the more disappointing players this season. If he is so painfully aware of the criticism, surely he should be grabbing hold of games by the scruff of the neck and trying to get us motoring. It's OK saying he's not that kind of player, but he's a central midfielder. If they can't do it, who can?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He would do good next to Henderson, Allen and Gerrard at Liverpool with the way they play at the moment. Or even next to Matic in the Chelsea team.
Exactly WKC
he could probably go to la liga and play for a decent team there. Not Barca obv but a team near the top.
Nice interview. Fell a bit sorry for him, it's never nice to hear a player speaking out about his lack of confidence, but he needs to up his game to avoid this criticism.
He's an average player, but he's a lot better than we've seen this season. He needs to be braver with the ball otherwise he won't make it at United.
He can talk about Spanish football all he likes but he's not been playing like a Spaniard so it's a moot point.
Tom really wasn't selling himself as a midfielder that should be a starter for United.
He said a lot there. When he received the question, there must have been nobody next to him to whom he could pass it.
Sad to see the abuse he received but then again that was nothing compared to what Darren Gibson was given. How long did his twitter page last - 5 minutes?!
Been faded out of the team, no talk of winning "his" place back. Doesn't seek determined at all.
Saying all that, how many games have we won since he disappeared?
did he end his interview with "but I've still played better than fellaini"?
He needs to look across to Mersey side at Henderson for a good example.Henderson was slated by opposition and Liverpool fans alike but he has come on leaps and bounds this season. In fairness though Liverpool as a team are playing good football and have a manager that actually knows what football is.

Completely agree with this. Under a manager who plays football on the ground, Cleverly would actually flourish. Even Fergie in his last few years adapted a brand of football that was just painful to watch, and then we landed with a manager who plays an even worse brand of football than what we were playing.
Liverpool and Everton have shown us this season what having a good manager does at the club. Sterling, Henderson and Allen were non-entities at the club before Rodgers. He introduced a brand of football that brought about the qualities these players possess.
Unfortunately, unless the club and fans realise that this is not the football they want their team to play, Moyes will be given all the time in the world.
Tom Cleverley is right in that the likes of iniesta and xavi do pass it sideways and keep posession but the big downfall of his argument is when the time is right, those players make killer, incisive passes to create chances.
Cleverley doesnt......
He is right in that if he is asked to stay disciplined and deep lying that he should do that however the top class deep lying midifielders protect the back four and stop attacks without leaving it to the last line.
Cleverley doesnt......
i've got nothing against the lad. A nice tidy player who could play well at the top level in the championship or bottom level of the premiership but hes too far off the quality thats needed. i would actually argue that Gibson actually had a little more to his game than Cleverley has and look at the stick he got!!

Well considering Rodgers signed Allen, yes I will agree with this
