Eustace tweeted last night saying I can now take Joey Barton out of my pocket
Even more embarresment for that Tblock berk
Direct quote from Arry himself on there web site
“People get carried away by things. Have a look at big clubs like Derby, Brighton, who got 27,000 last weekend, and the like. Leicester, Forest – big clubs. Burnley are playing well."
Massive club playing great football and I can't believe how lucky we were to scrape past them

Agree with pretty much all of that rob. I agree that the team that finished was more solid, however it was also less likely to score, so it depends a bit on what we are trying to get from the game. Against better or more physical teams we look vulnerable, and if we had the likes of Hughes, Bamford, Ward, Dawkins and Bennett on the bench we would certainly have options to go chasing games if required. Personally I would have Hendrick for Hughes on Saturday and if fit Dawkins and Russell wide.
I think with Hughes it's his mental fitness as well as his personal fitness, he can and has battled for the ball previously. He just looked shot and drained last night, can't believe they kept him on for as long as they did, Bryson got a knock early on and was a bit laboured.
Sammon I think was a liability on the left especially positionally, he seems to take it in turns 1 week super sub the next week sub the sub.
I wish we'd have had Dawkins last night think his tight control and playing between the lines would have given us the advantage.
Agree with Vidals regarding Hendrick starting would give Hughes a big rest, maybe even out of the squad, I think a fit Hughes will be back on it, the lad can put a tackle in, I remember him at the beginning of the season.
It was nice to see the hard work side of our game though, I think as we mature we'll be able to get the right balance there. Also, reckon depending on form of giving Eustace a rest and trying out the mighty Thorne.
To be fair to Hughes and Bamford they got flucked up last night and did put a fight in in patches, I think despite QPR's thuggery there might be a few more hairs on the chin of our younger players this morning.
personal fitness meant to say physical fitness
Can’t disagree with much of your post Robrea.
I though Hughes had a decent game last night, he never shirked going toe to toe with the vastly experienced Barton, I agree that if Hughes could get a pie or two down him he could start to boss the midfield.
I thought the back four were brill, Norm is so solid, players just bounce off him, Keogh looked a bit more assured, Bucko was…………. well Bucko, even Fozzy looked good. The lad has the ability to cross a great ball when he is on the run, he just needs to get a bit more nouse on his defensive positional play. Granty seems to be making steady improvement and showed a lot more confidence.
It’s hard to criticise a fella who has scored 4 goals in 4 games but Bamford looked like a school boy lost last night, the hair bear bunch seemed to not even bother that he was there as he provided no pressure to him at all. Jack Russell certainly put more pressure on him in the second half.
Martin was excellent, he must have been told to wind up Barton and he did just that. His hold up play, again was exceptional. Ward did Ok for the period of time he was on but Russell certainly added a bit more grit.
Conor Gump ran fast………..run forest run
All in all a professional performance against a small club from West London who employ premiership quality players who fortunately cannot play as a team.
Agree with virtually everything on robrea's post. I wouldnt be so hard on Hughes but he was below par last night. Agree with vidal on team too. Hendrick in and Russell defo starts for me next game. He looked right up to speed last night.
Anyway vidal....schoolboy error....WE dont play Saturday
Dont worry...i made a mistake once. It was an overated experiance.
I noticed that backo but didn't want yo pull the poty up on it.
Rob, great post.
Hughes tailed off after Xmas last season and the same this.
There's no denying his quality but he certainly needs to strengthen up soon if he is to "make it".

Well we probably were the better side. Had most of the pressure. But if we dont score then we dont deserve to win
CBeebies finished, has it?

More possession, more shots, more shots on target. And away from home at your place. That is all I am sure is being said. As I said MANY times, we didn't deserve to win because we played poorly and didn't score. But you can't say you played us off the park because that is a lie.
You guys seem to have an inferiority complex about QPR. Yeh we probably have a higher wage bill than you. We are trying to reduce it. Get over it. It's not like we are just buying everyone for £5m or anything is it.
My honest concern with Hughes at the moment is him getting a bad injury , the way he dangles a leg at times is frightening , you cannot go in half hearted with blokes like Barton.
The lad needs taking out for his own good , give him two weeks off and insist he goes to the sun for a break.
Funny old game!
We batter some teams without a win (Brum) then beat QPR without being anywhere near our best.
Swings and roundabouts etc...
I thought QPR were much the better team second half .. But what a defensive performance.
Reminded me of a little game against the Baggies a few years ago?

Just what I said the other week without the potential for injury bit that I full accept too. He needs to regain his fire and sitting on a warm beach when his mates are going for promotion will give it to him in spades. Two weeks isn't much to wait when the alternative could be 12months.
To suggest that Hughes does not work hard is ridiculous. McClaren said recently that only Bryson covers more ground than him. He has committed plenty of fouls and always presses the opposition. What he doesn't do is dive in all the time when the percentage of winning the ball is low. This seems to annoy the crowd who want blood rather than the ball back. The best players do this. Paul Scholes could not tackle for toffee but knew when to press the opposition.
Hughes changed the game at Blackburn and was our most creative player against Yeovil. We'll miss him if we drop him.
There's only six players who have committed more fouls than Will in this division, and two of them are Eustace and Martin!

To be fair his timing is poor so he gives away free kicks , how often does he come out of a fifty fifty with the ball. As for covering ground that is no indication of a good player or his ability , i remember being in a room when BC was told a player could run all day , his answer was " so can my two dogs" But it only opinions .
