WOLVES

....................Buffon.................
De Sciglio...Zouma..Merte...Shaw
.................Luiz...Gundo...............
Di Maria.........Insigne.........Remy
...................Negredo............

Subs: Pantilimon, Burn, Maggio, Motta, Ronaldinho, May, Neilton

Possession based football aiming to control the midfield and hit our opponents quickly on the break

Buffon - Captain of the side and will lead by example, will try to claim crosses and throw the ball out to try and start any quick possible counter attacks.

De Scig - Young talented right back will be in for a battle today against Sam. De Scig will be expected to defend primarily but will get forward when the chance arrises to provide the overlap allowing Remy to cut inside. Will show his winger the line and force the cross

Shaw - Another bright prospect will shepherd Robben in one on ones and avoid diving in as Robben will skin him. like De Scig his main priority will be to defend but get forward when the opportunity comes and bang in some crosses for Negredo to attack.

Zouma - Will man mark Ronaldo using his pace and power to deny him space to work his magic. Zouma has to stay close and not allow Ronaldo time to bring the ball under control

Mertesacker - The experienced man in the defence, will talk Zouma through the game and be the spare man clearing any lose or through balls. will also be the first man to clear any aerial balls

Luiz - Anchor man today, will collect the ball from the defence and move it forwards, driving on with the ball at his feet looking for space and runners to pick out. Defensively he will help the defence doubling up on Ronaldo

Gundogan - will be the box to box midfielder helping us dominate possession through the middle of the park looking to feed Insigne and the wingers. Defensively he will double up on the opposition winger with our fullback

Insigne - playing more central than usual he's the number 10 for the day, will drift around looking to create space for himself and Negredo, good pace and vision he will try to play through Negredo and create one on ones

Di Maria - Will stay forwards today penning back his opposite full back and be an "out ball" for the defence. Will play as the traditional winger taking his man on and crossing the ball for Negredo to attack

Remy - more of an inside forward than a winger, will look to cut inside more and run at Puyol with pace, shooting from distance as well as linking up with Negredo

Negredo - Will play as the lone striker/ target man today...holds the ball up well and has enough pace and power to trouble most defences, will brong the ball down lay it off to his runners and get into the box to attack crosses or parried shots

Captain - Buffon
Pens - Negredo
Free-kicks Insigne/Luiz
Corners Insigne/Luiz

Subs:
If winning or drawing at 65

Maggio > De Scig
Ronaldinho > Insigne
Motta > Luiz

The system stays the same and the subs are like for like we just have some fresh legs

Losing at 65

___________________De Sanctis________________
Coleman_______Bonucci_____Chiellini______Alaba
______________Ramires______Kroos____________
Muller_______________Rooney_____________Reus
___________________van Persie________________
SUBS: , Terry, Sagna, Pirlo, Barkley, Griezmann, Sturridge

Captain: Rooney
Right free-kicks: van Persie
Left free-kicks: Rooney
Penalties: van Persie
Right corners: Kroos
Left corners: Kroos

General:
GEGENPRESSING is a highly-organised approach to regaining possession and minimising space for the opposition used by Dortmund, and now used by me. My opponents are rapidly closed down by well-rehearsed, co-ordinated pressing movements, often by two or more players, allied with intelligent positioning to restrict space for opposition to pass and move into. The best moment to win the ball is immediately after after my team just lost it. Once we have regained possession, the transition from defence to attack will be explosive. Not fussed about possession, aim is to move the ball around efficiently and with purpose, with many forward passes and none of Spain’s useless sideway passes. Play on the counter if dominated, but move the ball around when they sit back. Passing will be quick and intelligent, players moving into space and plenty of interchange between the three attacking midfielders. Team will look at the striker as the focal point with the attacking midfielders running off and beyond him, linking up efficiently. When defending Muller and Rooney will drop back to help, Reus stays up as the out ball and van Persie prepared for anything lumped up to him. Team must attempt to block shots at all times. Deep defensive line.

De Sanctis:
Claim crosses if possible. Always clear lines, and hoof up the pitch towards the strikers whenever possible. The ball must stay clear of the 18 yard box at all times. Communication is key with centre halves to avoid confusion when deciding who claims a loose ball / cross.

Bonucci and Chiellini:
Deals with opposition attackers. Bonucci keeps an eye on their attacking midfielder when he gets close to the 18 yard line. Chiellini will also mark their striker closely not allowing him space to turn. Bonucci or Ramires will deal with knock-downs to their supporting player depending on who is closer. Chiellini will try and win headers when long balls are played towards the back line. Bonucci will be the centre half who steps up and clears up balls before it reaches their attackers, but must only go if he’s 100% sure he’ll get it. Chiellini will also clean up any balls / players who manage to get past Bonucci. Go up for corners.

Coleman and Alaba:
Will get forward in turns when we get possession, if they aren’t individually under too much pressure. Will sit back when without the ball, but bomb forward when the opportunity arises. Main aim is to provide width and provide extra bodies in midfield to link up play. They should thump in crosses to van Persie when it’s on. Shoot if there is a clear sight of goal. Stays back for corners. Must not commit to tackles otherwise wingers will skip past them, just stay close, limit their space and show them onto their weaker foot.

Ramires and Kroos:
Sits deep, breaks up play and snap at their heels. Ramires is an engine that can cover a lot of ground when defending. Ramires will hardly ever go past the half-way line. Kroos will buzz around and dictates play, bursting forwards at times to provide an extra body in attack. Kroos will be a bit ahead of Ramires to be more involved in exchanging passes with full backs / Rooney, even going level with Rooney at times to use his incredible vision to find teammates. Kroos will be playing as a hybrid midfielder. Ramires stays close to the centre halves. Both sprays balls wide to fullbacks when they get forward. Stays back for corners. Will not allow the opposition any time on the ball in front of centre halves. Ramires sticks to position when fullbacks flys forwards, providing cover if needed. Kroos drops deeper when this happens.

Muller, Rooney and Reus:
Will constantly swap positions with each other. Will look to thread through balls to van Persie and exchange passes with each other. Constantly drifting in and out of position, into space to make it difficult to mark. Will alternate between running down the wings to cross and cutting inside all the time, making the defenders confused. Rooney should always track back to help the fullbacks and midfield when defending. Rooney can burst past van Persie and shoot if needed. Goes to near post to anticipate crosses. Constantly runs at their defence. All will press the opposition when without the ball. Rooney stands outside the box for corners.

van Persie:
Holds up the ball, brings the three attacking midfielders into play. Play on the shoulder of the last man, always sets himself at the far post for crosses. Will keep the centre halves occupied.

SUBS:
Winning:
75 mins: van Persie OFF Pirlo ON
Go 4-3-3 with Pirlo in CM to help hold possession and make midfield more solid and also add fresh legs. Rooney moves up front.

Losing:
80 mins: De Rossi OFF Sturridge ON
80 mins: Kroos OFF Pirlo ON
Go 4-2-4 with van Persie Sturridge centre Muller right Reus left. Rooney supports, Pirlo holds and sprays passes from deep.

FC Twente vs. MANCHESTER UNITED

----------------------Neuer------------------------
Santon-J.Martinez---I,Martinez---Marcelo
--------Will Hughes-----Illarramendi----------
---Zabaleta-------Rakitic---------Gotze------
--------------------Fabregas----------------------

Subs: Horn, Guerreiro, Diarra, Powell, Gallagher, Ramirez, Suarez

Tactics - Coming off a very good win, we need to capitalise on this boost of confidence. Looking to play a very possession based game, with Fabregas as a false 9 being able to drop back and outnumber Ex-Goodwick FC. Fan's got a good team, but it's very young, and as such will be prone to chasing the ball, rather than setting up in a way to defeat the passing game. Tire them out by forcing them to follow the ball whilst we stroke the ball about easily.

Defence - Very strong defence out today, Neuer's defensive attributes need no introduction so I'll outline what I want him to do when he has the ball. Look to find the feet of any of the back four, choosing the player who has the most space. All of the back four are brilliant in possession - The CBs grew up in the era of Spain's Tika Taka so know how to play with balls. This will allow us to keep possession - Not risking hoofing it up and chasing the second ball. Keeping possession from the back will play into our general style of forcing Twente to chase and chase, always tiring themselves out.

Defensively I want the fullbacks to stick back. With Fabregas dropping deep we won't need the numbers up field to win the midfield battle. Added to which, if Fab comes deep it allows Gotze, and Zaba in particular, to stay wide stretching the game giving their players even further to run. between the CBs, Javi Martinez will be the one who challenges aerially, his tallness and physical strength will give him the edge over any of Fan's strikers. Should the ball come down low, with a striker or two running at us, Inigo will go to challenge, a terrier in the tackle, he won't give up so even if he doesn't win it first time he will keep them occupied whilst Javi Martinez is able to cover and sweep up.

Midfield - Like I said possession football. Gotze, Rakitic, Illarra, and Hughes are all based around slick, quick passing. This possessionary core will be where the ball tends to stick, but should we need it we have Fabregas dropping deep from one side, and the Spanish CBs offering options at the other, we will never find ourselves without a pass 'on', meaning we can keep the ball and keep them chasing.

"Zabaleta on the right?!" I hear you cry. "What is this?!" you continue to spout. "Calm down" I say. He will play as a 'deep' RM, keeping the FB covered, whilst also keeping the game wide, forcing Twente to cover more distance when they chase the ball.

Rakitic should look to latch onto lay offs and one twos as an offensive option, he has such a powerful shot that he shouldn't be afraid of opening up (especially not in the form he's in). Gotze can look to use his mega footballing brain to glide into space, looking to aid Fab's 'false 9' position by confusing the opposition defence.

Fabregas - False 9, a formation I know you like Again, his main aim should be dragging the defence to sunder as they don't know who to pick up, how a line to play etc. etc. This False 9 formation has two major benefits - against a young, inexperienced defence the positives (i.e. confusion) are exacerbated, secondly, it gives us an extra option in out attempt to control possession and keep Twente running themselves out of position and ragged.

When they're all out of sync with one another Fabregas should look to ghost into the space left and latch onto the myriad of throughballs that will be pinging their way to him. Once in this position he's proved recently that he can take any and every chance that comes his way.

Subs -

Losing/Drawing -

70 - Gallagher on for Santon. Zaba to RB, Fabregas to No.10 with Rakitic and Gotze all intermingling in a 4-2-3-1. Gallagher is a big strong CF, and will look to play with his back to goal laying off the talented trio behind him to try their luck.

Winning -

70 - Dennis Suarez on for Santon. Zaba to RB, Suarez to no.10 in 4-2-3-1 massive amounts of ingrained 'tika-taka'. Keep the ball against a now incredibly tired Twente. Keep it moving and them chasing. If we have the ball they can't hurt us.

4-2-3-1 deep

___________________Ceni________________

______________Mascherano______S.Bender____________
Kuba_______________Thiago_____________Aubameyang
___________________Mandzukic________________
SUBS: Schneiderlin, Dede, Eriksen, Mkhitaryan, Mirallas, Lukaku, Kurzawa

Captain: Thiago Silva
Right free-kicks: Thiago
Left free-kicks: Thiago
Penalties: Ceni
Right corners: Thiago
Left corners: Thiago

Formation:
We have gone for a 4-2-3-1 deep formation mainly to protect the back four against tricky Bilbao midfielders who play between the lines. The 2 DM's should block out any threat in front of the back four. The main idea is to play a counter attacking football. Stay strong at the back and break with pace catching the opponents off guard.

GK

With Ter Stegen out injured, the responsibility falls at the experienced hands of Rogerio Ceni. Ceni has over 500 appearances and has always been known to be a stable keeper. He does have the ability to take set pieces and score but we will not risk that in this particular game. He will have his chance if we get any penalties. Ceni will use his accurate goal kicks to find Mandzukic who will hold the ball for us and bring in others to play.

Defence

The central back pairing of Silva and Koscielny is perfect. They both have power and pace. They will have to be on to form to deal with the clever movement of Suarez and the rest of the attackers. Thiago is a natural leader and he will have a specific instruction to man mark Suarez out of the game.

The full backs will be crucial. Their priority is to defend and stifle out the opponents wide players. They are expected to tuck in and defend very closely with the CB;s. The reason for this is Bilbao have wingers who like to drift inside therefore it is important to force them wide. If they do go wide and put in crosses we have the height and power of Silva and Koscielny to head the ball out. Lahm and Alba are very experienced and I expect them to do their duties very well. The full backs are also encouraged to get forward when we have safe possession of the ball. It i important to push Bilbao back and make their wide players track back.

Midfield

When playing against tricky players it is important to have a strong midfield protecting the back four. Mascherano and Bender were born to do this. When we are really under pressure, Mascherano can play as a half back, dropping back to act as the 3rd centre back. The central areas will be key to this game therefore we have to do everything possible to block these areas. When we have the ball, Bender can push up and support the play knowing fully that Mascherano is always there.

Thiago will play as an Enganche, operating between the midfield and attack. He is the ivot oint of our tactic and will be expected to hold his position and create many chances for the wide players and striker. Thiago will play "one touch" football, knocking the ball on quickly or distributing the ball quickly. Switching play to the flanks will also be key. Thiago's set piece ability will hopefully be of good use for us.

Attack

The focal point of attack will be Mandzukic. He will hold the ball up and bring others, especially Thiago into play. His work rate will be key and he will be told to press the CB's and give them no space as Bilbao like to play possession football. You can be assured that if Mandzukic gets any chances he will put them away.

On the right side we have Kuba. His work rate down the right flank is very impressive. His main task will be to run at the full back and get crosses in the box for Mandzukic, Thiago and Aubameyang. When we don't have the ball Kuba will track back and protect Lahm.

The left side will be Aubemayang. He will play more as an inside forward, cutting inside to support Mandzukic and getting in the box as much as possible. He will need to time his runs perfectly to surprise the Bilbao defence. Again when we lose the ball he will need to track back and work hard.

Set pieces

Attacking: Thiago Silva and Koscielny to go in the box with Bender, Aubameyang, and Mandzukic. Kuba will stay on the edge of the box looking for any loose balls. Lahm, Alba and Mashcerano to stay back and guard against any quick counters

Defending: Lahm and Alba on the posts. Bender, Thiago Silva, Mascherano, Koscielny and Mandzukic will all man mark players tightly. Thiago will be on the edge of the box hoping to collect loose balls and passing to Kuba and Aubameyang who will stay up front.

70 mins - if losing

Take off Mascherano and bring on Lukaku. Change to 4-4-2 with Bender and Thiago in the middle. More direct style as we have 2 big men up front and get the ball in the box as quick as possible

70 mins - if winning

Bring on Lukaku for Mandzukic. Fresh legs to keep pressing from the top. Thiago to drop a bit deeper

Stoke tactics

-----------------------Howard-------------------
Juan Fran-----Dante-----Godin--------Cole
------------------Yaya------Flamini----------
--Nasri---------------Oscar---------------Ribery
---------------------Ibrahimovic------------

Subs. Sorenson, Arbeloa, Shea, Townsend, Kaka, Drogba

Tactics. Keep the ball moving but with more direction than unecessary possesion. I want my team to play the opposition of the park by keeping that ball and play in triangles but the ball will be moving forward at speed. I want to create space for players the wingers to attack the CB's as I think they can beat them witheir pace. We will be focussed and disciplined when not in possesion and let them have the ball in their half but as soon as they are in ours, the miidfielders to close them down and start our pace-passing game.

Howard. Aggressive in set-pieces and decisive in his approach. Knee the attackers in the process of punching or collecting the ball in the air so they do not try and bully him. He communicates with Godin to sort the back 4.

Godin and Dante. They will be up against two good strikers but my CB's will be bullying them and barging them off the ball to get Rooney wound up and tackling on their feet but aggressively. Godin to be more of the dominant CB whilst Dante to cover him and play away the ball expecting a flick on.

Cole and Juan Fran. Both to stay back initially and stay in their zones. Do not try and get sucked in to ruthless tackles. Stay on your feet as much as possible and time the tackle as clean as possible. They are both strong and quick enough to stay with their oppenents.

Flamini and Yaya. Flamini to be constantly closing down and chasing down anything that comes near the defence but only if they are threat to goal, not out in the wings. Flamini not to go forward. Yaya to be bossing the midfield and surge forward for quick passes with Oscar and the wingers and make late runs for an extra option to when we are attacking.

Oscar. He will be making intelligent runs either as decoy for Yaya to run into or turn defenders and pass out to the wide players for them to run at the fullbacks with their pace. Oscar to chase down players who enter ou half but stay free if we win the ball so he can receive and find Ibra.

Nasri and Ribery. Different approaches from the two. Ribery to target Coleman and use his skill and pace to beat him but also target the CB's as I believe his pace can cause havoc and they cannot match him. Nasri to play more tactically as he will be using players for quick 1-2s and finding runners to get closer to goal or run diagonally to shoot or find Ibra.

Ibra. Target man but will be on the halfway line when defending. When attacking, he will be shielding that ball and fending off the CB's with his strength and trying to make space for a shot or pass for anyone in a better position. Ibra to shoot at sight when in a good position but he does what he thinks is best for the team.

Trapp

Piszczek Miranda Vertonghen F.Luis

Modric L.Bender

Sanchez James Turan

A.Ramos

Subs if loosing -

Gutierrez on for Ramos 76' Switch to 442 with Sanchez playing off Teofilo

If winning

Fredericks on for Sanchez 88' - Sits deeper like a second RB

The plan today is to play a more expensive attacking game to counter the opposition breaking out of last weeks defensive stance

Goalkeeper - Trapp is quick off his line and is to do so for one on ones and crosses. Will look to play the ball out to his defenders.

Defence - Both Piszczek and Luis will look to take a high and offensive position to dominate the flanks from the first minute. Luis will look to combine with Turan to get forward and put crosses into the box and remain an option for the mid fields creativity. Pisczek will use his pace and energy to scale the flanks.

Miranda and Vertonghen take a high position both interlinked to each other. Eg if one presses the other covers deeper (not playing people onside) both have the pace and strength to do so. This means opposition attacks are both pressed and covered.

Midfield - Bender plays a deeper role today using his dynamism to get stuck in defensively breaking up opposition attacks. Modric is the more creative , will pick the ball up in deep positions and drive forwards using his vision and agility to create space and play precise passes to my attacking players

Sanchez is the direct option on the right, stays close to the full back to use his blistering pace to get in behind the defence in order to profit from the teams creativity to get in behind the defence. James plays centrally and will act as a pivot for Modric and Ramos keeping things moving in the attacking quarter. Turan plays a free role on the left drifting inside to interlink with those around him, specifically James and Luis.

Attack - A.Ramos is the sole attacker and will use his pace and power to be a constant threat in the box. Will fight for headers and shoot on site, a clinical finisher he will be on the end of much of the teams creativity. Equally able with his back and front to goal Ramos has the abilities to occupy the lone striker role. Will not remain static peeling away from defenders to create space to finish

Pens - Ramos
Corners - Modric
Both FKs - Sanchez
Captain - Miranda

A back four are solid players who defend their lines very well, they will keep the wingers quiet, keep them to the outside and away from our danger area. McAuley and Subotic will keep an eye on their attacking players not allowing them space to shoot and will also go up for corners.

Reid and Evra will force there wingers out wide and will also keep crosses to a minimum, they will support the wingers when attacking, will also deliver crosses for Anelka.

Alonso and Ramsey will sit in front of the defence, Alonso will be strong in the tackles he will watch the AM of the opposition, will stay around the half line when we attack. Ramsey will be the box to box midfielder, if Alonso goes forward Ramsey must sit deep, only one goes forward at a time.

Xavi and Alonso will be the hub of the attacks and will be in the free role with more freedom to attack , they will link the play up with his fantastic passing and will make late runs into the box. they will support the Salah, Neymar and Anelka as much as possible. he will also use Neymar and Salah for one twos to break opposition's defense.

Salah will the right midfielder today he will provide an extra creative option from the right will make runs forward too to get into the box. He will also put crosses in the box when out wide. Will look to thread through balls to Xavi/Anelka/Neymar and will also exchange passes with them.

Neymar uses pace and trickery to great effect, He will put pressure on the opposition full backs and will constantly attack their respective full backs, also has a great eye for goal so will be a real danger, will look to Alonso/Xavi and Anelka in the centre as he will pass and go and look to link up straight away with the two forwards, so he can cut inside and unleash his powerful and accurate shooting range, will have Evra behind him and the two will bomb forward when they can but also be back to defend the lines.

Anelka is the lone striker where he works best, and he must operate as the target man, as well as the clinical finisher with his very good passing skills he will drop back occasionally to create a fine line for the wingers. Atletico Madrid team and tactics:

Montoya-----Varane------Bartra-------Moreno

------------Wanyama------Arteta------------------

Jese-----------------Torres-----------------Tello

------------------------Costa------------------------

Subs:
Rafinha, Bapistao, Piazon, Fischer, Johansen

Set pieces:
Captain: Wanyama
Corners: Tello/Torres
Freekicks: Tello/Torres
Pen: Costa

Gameplan:
Press the opposition and when they lose the ball hit them on the counter attack.

Defending:
We are to defend from the front with Costa, Jese, Tello and Torres all pressing the oppositions backline DM/CM not let them get the ball in and around us with quick slick passing. We want them to keep this up for the whole match and all 4 can do that. Arteta and Wanyama will protect the back four, however, both will put pressure on the oppositions more creative players and stop them from getting on the ball and getting at our defence. I want no rash late challenges to give away silly freekicks and the wingers will need to come back to protect the full backs should we get hemmed in at the back. Varane will follow the run of the opposition’s striker whilst Bartra will follow any other runners along with our full backs. If things come in at a height Bartra will win everything in the air and Varane will sweep/clear everything away. Asenjo is to be a commanding figure and sending orders out. He also will be big and strong when it comes to one on one situations.

Attacking:
When we finally get on the ball with the pace we have in this team we’ll break forward. Jese, Tello and Torres will break with Costa and play one-two’s and get in and around the box with shots and crosses into the box for the striker. Wanyama and Arteta will make sure the ball gets going forward quickly when we go on the counter attack. Bartra, Varane, Montoya and Moreno will all stay in our half but they’ll also need to get the ball forward to our quicker players quickly .

Subs (at any outcome):
Bapistao and Fischer on for Costa and Jese on 70 mins
Piazon on for Tello on 75 mins

These changes are to freshen the team up when the front guys are running on empty.

Kapinos, Indi, Clasie, Bentaleb, Andrade, A.Hernandez, Niang

Cillessen will look to dominate the area, make himself as big as possilble and look to shut down strikers as he is quick off his line

Again quite attack minded outfield, think this is the only way we can go with a young, fit side..a few changes for the better since last week but continue the same style

Stones and Ricardo will attack the flanks and support the wingers, sprint on the outside to give them an option of a pass or allow them to cut inside, i must stress only one fullback attacks at a time..When defending keep it simple, force the wingers out wide and away from the danger area. Veltman picks up the CF and will use his strength to keep him at bay and away from the danger area, stick close and dont allow him time to turn in on goal. Always watching his movement even when we attack so he is there to stop him early. Ogbonna is spare and supports his fellow defenders if/when he is needed, takes a step back so he can watch them attack and position himself correctly, big, powerful boy so will look to dominate in the air and clear all high balls that come his way. A solid back 4, stay tight when defending..

The midfield double act of Strootman and Nainggolan will look to control this game, they know each other very well so communication throughout this game wont be a problem, Strootman starts the deepest but when they attack they can take it in turns to move forward or whoever has the ball the other sits in, when defending they will be impassableas they look to break up play and help out the defenders. As they come forward, pick up the midfielders and not allow them to dictate play, constant pressure on them into mistakes and loose passing, once we have won the ball then look to play the ball about, either like said can can drive forward and support Isco with him pulling the strings in midfield, one of those two must stay back at all times and the other can move to pick up any scraps that come out of the box. Always make themselves available for a pass and look to play quick one/twos with the wingers to get them in on goal. If Destro is in a good position set him away with through balls or over the top.

Isco is my playmaker, makes chances for others and alwayd looking to move it forward as he follows his pass to become a threat, will pick up from behind and can turn and pass very quickly, always look to support the front three, Destro especially.

The front three is all about movement, very quick and all got good eyes for the goal, drive at the defenders with pace looking to set Destro in on goal. The wingers will cut inside and use Isco again for quick one twos to allow them to drive into the box and have a shot. Otherwise look to get Destro in with clever passes to allow him a drive at goal. Dzeko always on the last man ready to pounce on cross balls not many defenders will out jump him as he makes his way in on goal. If he cant go for goal look to hold it up or flick on for others driving in ie Isco/Wingers

Game Plan: Our Plan this week is to play a more patient, possession based game, we are missing a lot of players in the middle with injuries, but our players are suited to keeping possession in tight areas, the defensive line will be slightly deeper than usual as Crewe have very pacy forwards with great movement so we need to limit the space they have to run into. With the ball we will look to push forward quickly and incisively, our wide players will look to move inside allowing the fullbacks to bomb forward and supply the width, while our 2 cm's will look to get in and around the box to support the forwards in the attack

De Gea- very confident goalkeeper, will look to dominate his area and be quick off his line, has good handling and is an excellent shot stopper, will look to distribute the ball quickly to the fullbacks or midfielders in order to start counter attacks.

Benatia/Mangala- both quality CB’s Mangala will look to attack the ball more often using his height, strength and pace to keep the Crewe attack under control, while Benatia covers in behind should Mangala miss the ball, both good technical footballers aswell, so are comfortable starting attacks from defence.

Rafael and Alex Sandro- Both very quick, with good defensive skills and intelligence, will look to watch the runs of the Crewe forwards very carefully, as they will look to make runs inside, must be careful not to dive in as both players have great skill and pace, will look to force both wide, rather than inside. When we have possession of the ball, both will look to get forward quickly and provide assistance to the front 3, both Crewe's FB's can be exposed by pace, so Rafael and Alex Sandro will look to overload them in the wide areas.

Carvalho- will sit in front of the defence and use his passing range to keep the ball moving and spread the play, will not venture forward much at all, when we are in possession he will act as a 3rd CB when the FB's go forwards so as not to leave us too exposed, when Crewe are in possession he will look to make the gap between himself and the CB;s as small as possible so as not to leave room for the Crewe AM's to run at our CB's and will look to pick up the 2nd's from the CF.

Jojic- will get box to box, press high up the pitch without the ball and look to win it back quickly, very intelligent user of the ball, will look to make late runs into the box and get on the end of balls in from out wide, very quick across the ground and is very elusive.

Pogba- will get box to box more than usual today, rather than playing as the holding player, this is more suited to his game as he is very creative and has a fantastic shot which he will look to use at every opportunity. When we're out of possession he will look to pressure the opposition midfield using his rangy style and excellent tackling ability to disrupt their rhythm.

Januzaj- will play from the left wing, but will look to stay wider more often as Jojic and Pogba will occupy the centre of the pitch, however as a very 2 footed player he can go either way and get shots off or beat his man down the line and get crosses in, will run with the ball as much as possible using his pace and ability to glide past players. Without the ball will use his pace to get back quickly and help out Alex Sandro deal with the threat down the right hand side.

Iturba- will look to tuck in from right and allow Rafael room to overlap, will act as a wide playmaker rather than a winger, will look to thread balls through rather than cross. Iturbe also has a very good shot on him and will look to use this when the situation arises, will look to combine with Messi throughout the game, has very good movement. Without the ball he will get back quickly in order to help out the full back in defence.

Messi- will have a free role with license to move into any area in the final third, he will look to come and get the ball off the midfield at times and turn and run at the Crewe defence, at other times he will look to make runs in behind, his intelligence is unrivalled, and he is a player you can pretty much leave to his own devices on the field, he will look to be elusive and draw the CB's from their positions to create space for others to take advantage of.

Captain: Benatia, Freekicks: Messi, Corners: Iturbe Penalties: Messi

Subs:

if losing after 65 minutes, Mitrovic for Iturbe, Mitrovic to play as the CF, while Messi plays a free role behind him, the CB's will have to look after Mitrovic leaving more space for Messi to weave his magic.

if winning after 80mins Aymeric Laporte for Januzaj, switch to 3-5-2 with Laporte making a 3rd CB, Rafael and Alex Sandro to be less attacking
