Thanks for posting on the PL board, which means I can comment on an Arsenal thread
I really hope we play 3 in midfield tonight otherwise you will just pass it around us. Pretty unsure of the result, both teams had a shocker last time out and it will depend on who bounces back stronger. Could go either way for me.
Difference is, we could defend under Fergie.
We need a 'Napoli @ home' performance from the first whistle!!
Are arsenals defeats to united a mental strength problem?
It is a mental thing. You watch the likes of city who have no fear and have destroyed united a couple of times in last few seasons.
We freeze up, especially at old Trafford
Why should it be a mental thing when we have largely different personnel these days!
The manager is the same and as he showed agst Chelsea, he has still not learnt the lesson...
If you don't press us and attack at pace, wenger has to go
i got a funny feeling united will beat us again, i know they are struggling in the league but they always seem to get the better of us. Problem for us is midfield & upfront who the hell is going to score goals for us without Ramsey & Walcott we are fcuked. Santi might fire, Ozil forget about him he looks disinterested at times probably wants out pf the club already. Im guessin his not use to fighting unlike Real where they just turn up & hammer the opposition.
My concern is on the goal front.
Without Ramsey and Walcott, your spot on, where are the goals going to come from.
Santi is probably the only that could score but other than him it's difficult to see other options
You've got the same problem you've had for years now, Wenger's stubborn belief in himself.
Either that or he's got a deal where he makes money based on profits from transfers. You know better than me how hard it is to understand his transfer philosophy. His "i didn't see it" attitude possibly worked in the past but he's missed an opportunity to capitalise on the transition at the other top clubs.
press us with fletcher and carrick snapping at our feet
----
Obviously you don't watch these two play.
press us with fletcher and carrick snapping at our feet
----------------------------------------
press us with Fletcher and Carrick separating forming a guard of honour type corridor for the opposition to waltz through and pressure our defence
What they did best under Fergie was to sit back and congest the middle, encouraging our play out wide. Our players would then lob aimless crosses into an empty penalty area and United would then hit us on the counter. Lets hope those days are finally over.
it will be the same old tonight i fully expect Utd to get the 3 points.
This has got a draw written all over it.
1:1 is my guess.
that suits neither really.
I wonder if Wenger will pull a surprise move and start with Gnabry in the Theo role.
He doesn't quite have the same pace but has enough to stop United playing a high line or pressing too far up the pitch and leaving space in behind
