Indeed, United have spent £686m servicing their debt and paying interest since the Glazers took over in 2005.
..............................................................................................
That's £85m per season taken out of your club and given to American and other investors........and we're ruining football? At least we're debt free.
How can you get away with spending so much money on players, when a debt still needs to be serviced?
You have almost halved that debt since the Glazer's have been in charge...so on the current demise and current rate of return....you should be debt free by 2022.
You kind of answered your own question Beauty. The debt is being serviced and isn't increasing. We are financially viable, which isn't the case for most clubs in England and many abroad either.
It must be a scary thought for rival fans. Once the debt has gone.
Not sure how many clubs are £356m in debt.....

Absolutely......after the Qatar WC....it'll only be another 3 or 4 more years and we'll all be quaking....
the glazers will like to keep a sizeable debt with the club because it gives them tax benefits
Tax frauds then? What a family.

Not many. But the United debt is extremely manageable. Unlike many other clubs, where the debts are increasing. And to United's credit, the debt is absolutely nothing to do with reckless overspending, as it is with many clubs.

Because we are one of the most profitable clubs in world football?
I'm sure you could have worked that one out from reading the content of your article.

Exactly. Not long.
but that matchday income was down by 3.7 per cent to £33.7m,

Purely down to the fact we played a game less in the same timeframe

You sure?
I would say about a quarter of our debt has been paid off
It's manageable if you have lots of sponsorship and prize money when you win things all the time. It helps if your the share price is not dropping as well. I'm sure you guys will turn it around though.
We truly our the biggest football brand in the world. The money we make is frightening and we will still spend over 100 million in the summer with this debt so imagine how much we can spend without the debt. We have also build unbelievable training facilities whilst this debt was still there.
amazing...all this money spent, biggest club on the planet....are you languish where?
I find it astonishing that some people defend the glazers. Not getting into this again but if we were allowed to spend the money the club generates we would have a much better squad than we do.
Yeah, you could have a dozen Fellaini's
