He certainly gets to people, doesn't he !
I really don't like Mourinho, but I don't see anything wrong with this. "Not being in the Champions League gives us an advantage" is something a lot of us have been saying too, so I don't think we can criticise Mourinho too heavily for this.
Dont like Maureen, however on this he is spot on and its one of the reasons why I have been tipping us to really compete for the title.
Prem game then cl game is tough mentally, and of course its more chance of injuries for those teams.
sorry, but he doesn't get to me. I confess, I will listen to him, and I always will. Thats until I see his lips move and hear a noise, a human voice, I think. then I switch off or over, anywhere. If thats getting to me, he fials at the last hurdle. Keep it up though Maureen, youre doing a brilliant job. We are all mesmerised by your words. Honest.

he's not getting to me, i'm just pointing out that since he considers being out of the champion's league such an advantage, instead of talking to everyone about it, he always has the option of withdrawing from it. that'll annul our advantage.
somehow I don't think he'll do that though....
He said something that is perfectly reasonable and logical, and praising Liverpool into the bargain, and some idiot gets angry about it! LOL.
The thing is with Mourinho he will say anything to further his own teams cause. I don't blame him for that, but the best way to view his remarks are to accept that he's totally biased.

Not to me, I think he's great entertainment.
Thing with Mourinho is just not to take him too seriously. He says what advantages him best at any moment, from that point of view he's really interesting. He's basically like an actor playing a part.
I know few of my fellow fans will agree but I don't mind him, the league is more interesting with him in it.
I cant really comment because I don't listen to the man.
if he praises any other team then they are being damned by faint praise.

Chelsea have played 8 more games than Liverpool this season and the Champions League has yet to even start back until next week. It's an obvious point he is trying to make.
In general though he'd do anything to win- and the barrage or abuse directed to Manchester City and Pellegrini demonstrates that. If Liverpool are still thereabouts come the closing stages then be prepared for something ridiculous from him...
Why withdraw from a competition that arguably is a superior trophy to the PL title?
He has however done this to pile the pressure on Liverpool and BR.
It is a big test of character for Liverpool during this second half of the season and thus far they are coping well
Mourinho is just joking around. He knows Liverpool are not a genuine title threat.

When was the last time a team won the Premiership, that wasn't also in the champions league in that same season ?
I think in his head it's mind games, but it's all pretty transparent which most people can see right through.
It's all pretty harmless UNLESS you start taking him seriously - which says less about him and more about you
Most teams in the champions league have massively expensive squads, so in theory, should be able to cope with a number of extra games.
I think a more interesting comparison between Chelsea and Liverpool, is Liverpool's mix of foreign talent, alongside homegrown talent, and youngsters who have come through the clubs youth set up.
Mourinho has a point, up to a point.
Nothing wrong with what he said. Despite the rivalry that we have with him, he wouldn't say something out if malice to unnerve someone as close to him as Rodgers. Rafa was another matter
The guy is a good manager and he is trying to wind people up. What annoys me is the media in this country who lap up every word he says! Even when he does not say anything funny and pauses in his sentences some of them start giggling like small school girls with a crush on their teacher. It is literally embarrassing watching it on tv.
actually, I don't believe that being out of the champion's league is a big advantage.
yes, we play less games. but then the money that comes with being in the CL allows those clubs to have larger squads, which negates the extra games argument to a great degree. plus it allows those clubs to buy better quality players, like the several players signed from under our grasp recently. those players help them in the league as well. would all of those players have still gone to other clubs if we could offer CL football?
Spot on 19th. All those three in champs league have much bigger squads than us to cope with multiple competitions
Playing in the CL only helps you in the transfer market. In the actual season, it's a hindrance. I'd honestly rather not be bursting a gut to beat Bayern and would rather focus on the domestic competitions. We certainly won't stop them over 2 legs and they'll just wear us out. Or Wenger may stupidly rest players against other teams just to prepare for them.
