No, being successful helps. You can mug anyone off whenever you want, just be prepared for the response. And thinking things through helps.

It isn't a failure but it certainly isn't a success either. Arsenal have barely challenged for the title for most of those years though. And that is a failure. I think Wenger is past it to be honest. He seems incapable of the ruthlessness required to get the job done at the top level.

But then again it really isn't easy. Look at the squad fergie left behind that cant even win half its games. It is hard to build an elite squad that continuously reinvents itself. Mourinho HAS NEVER built a squad or a club like wenger and fergie have so that it is self sustaining on and off the pitch. He goes somewhere and spends 100m on 28 year olds to try and win. Wenger and fergie built their clubs up and they built something most people would love to take over (even if wenger should cut players like giroud way before he does). Taking over any club from Jose if never a good thing because he is not skilled enough to build what is required. Short term manager who has no dignitiy.

Wenger a specialist in failure
