The atmosphere was very nervy for the first fifteen or so (when we couldn't get the ball) and then was good after that. Second time I have read that though so obviously didn't come across on the tv.

The barca fans only came over to see us no matter how poor we currently are

I know you are decent Melts and I know I don't really like Barca but glad they have almost knocked you out. You are pretty likely to win both domestic cups and go close in the league too. Winners will surely come from Bayern, Barca, Real with PSG dangerous

No worries Football, I can't and don't expect you to want City to win just because of me!

Barca are beatable, I don't think they will win it this year. Bayern and Real are the teams to beat for me.

Agree Melton... Both Bayern and Real have much more firepower and match winners

Pellegrini: "It was a bad idea to put a SWEDISH referee. It needed a more experienced one."

No idea why Pel is resorting for this

Some said that on the radio going home and there was a spontaneous shout of "Bóllocks".

I imagine ITV had only one microphone in the stadium and another one up Keane's arsé.

I saw he was very annoyed about the penalty incident, I haven't watched it yet though.

Barca should have had a pen earlier in the game

Kolarov could have easily been sent off

Barca had a legitimate goal disallowed.

Thought city were lucky with decisions. Pellegrini and kompany have been very bitter tonight

I'll reserve judgement until I watch them back fergie.

It wasn't a pen but a definite red and barca had one ruled off for offside which it clearly wasn't so it evened up in the end. Pellegrini annoyed me more by waving for a card. I can't stand that. Also what was Navas doing in the lead up to the pen? It was a pathetic dive from him which led directly to Barcas pen

Well there is no dispute that fabregas was onside for their disallowed goal

The other 2 are open to interpretation

All the journalists at Pel's press conference expressing shock at his comments on the refs, calling it Mancini like

To be honest Barca always get lucky decisions. It wasn't a penalty and City were unlucky, simple as that. Just like Nani should never have seen red against Real. These decisions in big games are huge and mistakes change games big time. Too many of these are made these days

-----------

Many of you were wrong here: it was not Fabregas offside, but Pique was offside. Fab was onside when receiving the pass, but Pique was in the offside position, then Fab passed it to Pique to score, at that time he (Fab) realized the offside of Pique also.

Think you need to learn the rules.
Does t matter that pique was in an offside position when messi passed to fabregas.
The linesman flagged fabregas offside and he wasn't.

I thought the ref and one lino were very poor tonight. I'm sure there were 2 or 3 offsides not given in the first half alone, one must have been 3 yards off. The ref gave a lot of nothing challenges as fouls when City committed them and much fewer when Barca did exactly the same. Shoulder charges - not allowed. And how Valdes gets free kicks when he is trying to lean over attackers to get the ball is beyond me.

It wasn't a penalty
-------

Even I supported City, have to say that the penalty is not harsh, it's a bit controversial but the foul was almost on the line. It was by the TV's very slow motion that they said it might not a pen. But for the human ref, it's hard for them to not rule a pen.

However, City did very well in general. Only a double bad moment from both Navas and Demichelis that led to the decisive goal.

Don't get me wrong, Barca deserved to win overall, but a penalty for DM's tackle? get real. Sending off yes, pen no.

Sorry but where is this city did very well coming from?

They are probably the best team in our league. They were at home yet they created next to nothing all game and got dominated and lost 2-0. If they were an average mid table or lower league side I'd say they did well but for a team that has spent the masses they have sorry but it simply wasn't good enough at all.

There were 3 players in a line offside in the 6 yard box - Were none of them interfering with play?

posted on 18/2/14

None of them were interfering when the first ball was played. When the 2nd pass was made it was a square pass therefore they were onside.

Learn the rules fellas. It's basics

Barca created nothing in the 1st half. Nothing. The penalty changed the game totally, though Barca were beginning to look more dangerous.
