We are slowly rebuilding. Our squad needs refreshment. There are too many veterans, happy to run out their contracts. This season is mainly a transitional one. Next season our squad will be younger and alot more competive. For now chelsea is stuck with ageing players. This issue is being address as all of our signings this season have been young ones primarly for the future.
Sooooo......
You have too much time on your hands
that will change soon(in a week or two)
Chelsea average will go down by some oldies leaving
chelsea was 28yrs 8months
Great to see, and it would have gone even lower when Rio and Vidic went off
why delete my comment, when i was right?
What did you comment TMB?
This is rubbish. I'd be interested to know how ours comes to 30 years old and 3 months or whatever when only 4 of our players were over that age.
Our squad is as young/old as anyone else's. United have kore Orr 30s than we do

Just did it myself and the age came up exactly 28. Might have got a few ages wrong...I'll beleive the Opta one. We can all agree that the article is pure rubbish

well we can easily replace alex with luiz whose 24 in the team and ivanovic whose 26 with bosingwa and the average age will be about 27 years!!
Also doesn't take into account players like Luiz and Sturridge yet to return from injury, and prospects like Josh, Lukaku and Romeu (who granted won't be in our first team all the time, but still).
Chelsea...ahaha what a bunch of pensioners
