Is it because Moyes is British?
---------
Yes
It's the same with players
I watched about 15 minutes of the United game last night and Rooney went in stud first on one of their players.
When it was shown on the replay, the commentators did not mention a word
Partly, but also because he is the 'chosen one'
SAF picked up and god forbid he admits he made a massive mistake
Do "the media" sit on your board of directors? Pretty sure it is they who make the decisions.

It is also because United and Liverpool are the media`s darlings, they will not be criticised, ever.

Actually even when Liverpool were winning every thing in sight, United were still the media darlings
It's because people are giving him the benefit of the doubt due to the fact he did a decent job at Everton before coming to United, and he's taking over a manager as good as Ferguson.
It would have been easier to point the finger at AVB after what happened with Chelsea.

That would be all well and good if it were true spurtle
Moyes averaged about a 7th/8th finish with Everton and coincidentally and contrary to popular belief, Everton were around the 8th highest spenders in top flight during his reign
So he did as well as i'd expect anyone to and didn't ever really come close to winning silverware.
Like I said earlier, Moyes was a dogs of war manager at a dogs of war type club
Billy, you really do have a chip on your shoulder about us and the media don't you.

Liverpool and United are never going to have anything said againt them by the media that cream themselves over the two clubs. The only thing is though Levy should have stuck by AVB, just because the media stirred it up, he did not have to sack AVB, he should have persevered with AVB for at least another season. You have waaaaankkkkers like Alan Sugar stirring the shiiite at the slightest sign of weakness, he has started again now on Soldado. I do wish Levy would come out from time to time and tell planks like that to go do one.
Metro so you wouldn't consider that a decent job then? Going from being a team near the bottom of the table at the start of his tenure to averaging top 6 in the last 5 years, despite as you say being the 8th highest spenders?
I get sick and tired of the United and Liverpool in particular media love-ins, they need to realise that there are plenty of fans out there who do not care about Liverpool or United and do not wish to hear or see the media fawning over them every time we switch on the TV or radio.
Obviously the Liverpool and United fans will not notice the huge media bias afflicting fans up and down the country, they are too busy lapping up the frenzy of Liverpool and United love.
moyes did a reasonable job at everton.
absolutely nothing that suggested he deserved the man u job though.

I'd say Pulis did a relatively similar job
Stoke aren't as big as Everton (albeit close) and he had them middle table
Spurtle...another thing I don't understand is why everyone keeps saying that Moyes did a decent job at Everton and that's why he should be given a chance at Man U.
Moyes did not win a thing at Everton. He does not possess the tactical nous to win things and he's out of his depth at Man U. Yet everyone keeps finding excuses for him......but yet crucify our ex manager who won trophies (including a Europa League trophy) in his recent past.

I agree I think Pulis did a decent job too.
I'm not saying by any means it was a Herculean effort by Moyes, simply decent. It shouldn't have landed him the job at United.
Boas was hounded because he was a surly prat, I just did not like him.
The one similarity I'm seeing with AVB and Moyes is that the players don't share the vision of the managers
Gezza-Spurs
Well I think the nationalities of the two managers come into play too, as has been said already. I'd expect the media to cut a British manager more slack than a foreign manager.
You have to also say that some of the results under him were far more pitiful than United's results under Moyes. It's not like they've been hammered 3-0 by a bottom team at home yet.
