Maybe I'm wrong, but I've always felt the vast majority of his articles are either tongue in cheek or him just trying to live up to his reputation as an overly optimistic Liverpool fan. Combination of the two most likely.

People will look back and laugh at this article, for all the wrong reasons, if Liverpool ever get to play in the CL again.

He's got a point though, if there's 2 teams most likely to win a european competition if they're in it, it's utd and liverpool, can't see you winning it this year and you're not getting 4th, so given our current form and attacking style, we'll attempt to romp through europe with more gusto than the the other english clubs likely to be taking part in next years CL.

The same thing will likely happen to Liverpool, if they get out of the group stages, that is.

Just because United and Liverpool have history and pedigree in this tournament doesn't make them any more likely to win it ahead of teams that are better than them with less pedigree - this season is a good example when you look at United faltering.

Liverpool, with their current team, would get obliterated by the likes of Bayern, Real and Barcelona.

Why? Simply due to the history of the clubs? To be honest, right now, out of all the English sides, i feel Chelsea have by far the best chance of winning the Champions league.

You see how arrogant Liverpool fans are? They can't differentiate between now and a few decades ago when they used to regularly win things.
