Really tidy player, whenever I've seen him I've been impressed

I've got to be honest and say that I haven't seen enough of Luke Shaw. I do like the look of Ben Davies, but as a back up to a true top class LB.

Davies looks decent.

Ben Davis is good. I bought him on FIFA and he is very useful when it comes to attacking and defending. Don't know how good he us out of game world but I do hear of him quite a lot.

KingP1N - My thoughts exactly. Did you watch him earlier against Napoli? He played very well.

Babyen møtte snikmorder - Considering Luke Shaw's age, he is a good left back. I hear what you're saying but I think as the years go by Ben Davies will improve as a left back. I will be surprised if he isn't playing for a top team in a couple of years

Yeah he is good footballer. He knows what to do in possession and has the ability to be successful at the highest level

Would prefer Luke Shaw but good player anyway

Don't get me wrong, I do like the look of Ben Davies. He's done very well since coming in for Taylor (who was excellent before his injury), and I think he will progress to be a class LB. I wouldn't mind him at OT, but at the moment I feel we need somebody of true class now. This team needs serious rebuilding at the back if three are leaving at the end of the season.

So you wouldn't want Luke Shaw either because he's not exactly top class atm.

Babyen møtte snikmorder - Fair enough but if we are being honest, there aren't that many top class left backs in the world. The only one I can think of is David Alaba. We are better off getting a young player with the potential of being top class and I think Davies is exactly that.

I stated earlier that I have hardly seen Shaw play. I've seen a lot of Ben Davies, and I do rate him highly. I'd love to have Davies and have him progress with us. At this moment in time, I'd just prefer someone of a higher level to step straight into the team. Who that player might be however, I have no idea.

How does he seem hell bent on going Chelsea?

posted on 27/2/14

@danielbendall - I think he is a Chelsea supporter so I assume that he would jump at the opportunity to play for his boyhood club

Don't you read the tabloids.

I don't think there's much to choose between Davies and Shaw, I think we should just go after Davies rather than potentially wasting more time going for a player who wants to go somewhere else.

Davies is comfortable on the ball but his defending his brilliant, he constantly fills in for Williams or Chico when they step out out of defence and is switched on enough to cover in the penalty area when crosses come in.

The main issue with Evra, apart age, is that he struggles defensively ,so if we replace him, the next left back HAS to be a brilliant defender or what's the point? Davies fits the bill for me.

I would assume that Davies would be far cheaper than Shaw too. The more I think about it, Davies could be a very, very good addition to the team. I would think that he would be open to a move, and Swansea have his replacement already in Taylor.

Ben Davies blimey, he's alright but should not be our number 1 target at left back

Who would you suggest we go for, and have a good chance of signing?

We should go in for both. If we get both, cool, sell buttner and let Shaw and Daivs duke it out for first choice at LB. IF we get latter and not the former then we at least got in a decent LB.
