Cleverly is a good football player, but his confidence is completely spent. I feel for the lad. He genuinely looks scared to be in posession of the ball. The problem's in his mind. He can't deal with his / the club's bad run. This sort of thing is just going to make it worse. I think he's going to have to change club to recover.
Poor guy. Feel really bad for him. Hopefully the drive home to his mansion in his souped up Audi R8 to bang his model girlfriend on a bed made of money will cheer him up a little.
That's such a silly argument, Bats.
Is it? He lives a pretty good life if you ask me, doubt these petitions bother him. He certainly plays like he doesn't really give a fack.

These aren't the words of somebody who isn't bothered by what the fans are saying about him.
His lifestyle is incidental.
"My job goes under the radar at times. I am not a player who's going to beat three or four people and stick it in the top corner or go round tackling people like Roy Keane."
What exactly is it you do, then, Tom?

My heart bleeds for the poor lad
Well that is what most United fans ask as well.
Still, I can't help feeling a bit sorry for the bloke - doesn't matter that he's loaded.
Never saw the point of fans getting at their own players. Not like it's ever going to help them improve is it?
Did it?
I thought Ramsey being completely devoid of confidence was one of the reasons he was so shiiite for so long.

Ok this made me lol.
But seriously. If the options are osman and barkley and even wilshire, I'll take cleverley. His confidence is shot now, thanks to moyes but many misunderstand the effect of regular football. I look at henderson as an example. His first season he waas a target of mockery and rightly so. But the manager showed faith and saw the things he did well and made him utilize it.
Now henderson is as key as anyone to pools midfield. I see lots of the same raw potential and strengths in cleverley. I bet anything if he was in liverpool now he will be performing just as well.
It goes without saying I would take henderson above a lot of the midfielders who are going to be favourites now because like cleverley said in his defence, a great amount of the work players like this go unheralded.

That interview made him sound like the worlds biggest bitchh tbh. What was he thinking
My first instinct was that it was quite funny. But I do think people have taken things a bit too far. Yes he's not playing very well at the moment, but he has put in some decent performances for the national team and the last thing he needs is more stick.
It seems to be a very English thing to slag off our own players, maybe that's why the team never performs.

Things like this is why England never win anything and never will.
