Na, Fed is the greatest. His style of tennis is so pleasing, especially when he was at his peak. Nadal is a brutal warrior. He may have better head to head against Fed, but that doesn't really tell much.
I think we are deluding ourself with federer.
We at present have a player who they call baby fed.
He plays like federer but something is missing.
He has lost to alot of players.
Maybe the player is not powerful enough.
The same applies to Federer.
McEnroe admitted his time was up when the power play came along in the form of Becker.

Even though Federer is the greatest, I feel his record against Nadal is quite shocking. It’s poor for a player of his calibre! It won’t be long until Nadal becomes the greatest though.
No, Nadal isn't close. Wimbledon is the biggest benchmark because it is the greatest Slam. Federer has 7. Federer also has winning Slam totals in 3 of the 4 Slams over Nadal. Federer didn't lose in his prime to players like Darcis and Rosol in a Slam. Federer has 300+ weeks number 1. Also, players like Borg played with older wooden racquets and in conditions that Nadal would have died in.
Nadal is not the greatest player of all time but I don't agree that Nadal would struggle in ancient conditions like Daniel says.
I want to see Nadal win a lot and break Federer's record of 17 Grand Slams and he might do that but he isn't the greatest tennis player of all time.
Nadal is better than federer. His h2h record proves this
Federer in from 2004 through 2005 was the greatest tennis play ever. He had it all - shotmaking, serves, volleys, a devastating slice, high accuracy, footwork and positioning, etc.
Even then however, young nadal defeated him in the french open, and soon after they had their epic battles at all the finals.
Nadal of course has the insane borg topspin, but he also has great footwork and is able to read the play well. He made plenty of ridiculously skilled passing shots during his main run of titles.
Nadal's ability to keep the ball in play just beat players into submission, and is the reason why he always had Fed's number overall.. but they both had to raise their game to overcome each other, which made for some truly amazing matches in their heyday. Nadal won wimbledon twice in 3 final tries.. how many players in history can attest to that??
All I can say is that the first time I saw federer make a shot in a 3-second sports news clip, I knew he would be the best ever, and he is
