Signed & good luck. Too many of our armed forces lay down their lives for us & get forgotten.
Great idea. Sure the authorities would back this.
Thanks to all who have signed so far, please keep it going.
Done. I've saw so many come back home through Wootton Bassett; its good that they are remembered close to home as well.
Signed, there is over a 1000 signatures now so hopefully it will happen
I signed this yesterday.
I have read though on the Post website that NCT would consider naming one of the tram's, but not a stop?
That is correct RFB, and obviously it will be brilliant to get a tram named after him. Unfortunately they have said that they will name stops after geographical locations and not people. It has been pointed out to them that the memorial is a geographical location, so we are still hoping.
I can see that initially the memorial might not be a recognised landmark but it soon would be: it's not like there's hordes of American tourists likely to be pondering the tram-map and discounting that route because they're unsure where that stop is exactly!!
It's a stop, on a line, and it should be named for him. There's no law being broken, just a guideline of some company. If the customers are asking for it, do it, it's simple enough!
Exactly KH. One of the stops is to be called Southchurch Drive North. Now I'm willing to bet that not many people will know which end of Southchurch that is.
