Not getting involved as I can't afford to be sued by the aforementioned person
Welcome to Ja606 Peter. I take it your currently in Asia.
stret, you need help pal.
Whereas the rich local business man owning a club might be preferable to the rich foreign businessmen I think both are flawed models of how a club should be run. Basically they are in it either for ego or profit or usually both. I would prefer football fans to own the club, idealistic I know when you are having to compete with the mega rich crooks who own most football clubs.
In my years of watching Derby we have probably only be owned by one honest director and he ended up broke. Some of the others have ended up in prison or in the ocean. All should have. Would love to see football fans rise up in a French revolution way and throw out all the directors, agents and Sky TV.
well said spartacus. Even if we spent millions to gte in the Prem then we still have to spend millions more to try and stay there. The result being....years of trying to get the debt down again.
Aren't the clubs in Germany & Spain (I think) owned by the fans? I'm probably wrong, but don't the fans have a veto over players who the management want to bring in?
Jorv, I think Bilbao, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Osasuna are all at least part-owned by fans either in the guise of a collective or whatever. Dont think there's many others though, but i could be wrong
Strettea: Having just (ill-advisedly, as it turns out) googled a photo of Hazel Blears, I can state categorically that I will take the Bacon Cob. Hell, given the choice I'd even marry it.
