When I said I'd have Soldado, I didn't mean it as a replacement for Giroud. We could do with a another striker don't you think?
And Soldado is a quality finisher, victim of terrible management at Spurs.

No. He's done a Torres. May have been a top finisher in past but no coming back. Perhaps if he moved back to Spain he could fin a his form but as an international striker he's been shocking.

Judging by the current state of the squad and our inabilty to challenge at the highest level it looks like investment in players is a must this summer"
Nail on the head
I always liked Soldado at Valencia, even if he's pretty much just an in-the-box striker. I'm surprised how poor he's been at Spurs, would be interesting to see how he'd do in front of our midfield.

It was widely regarded in SPAIN that it would be Soldado who would adapt to the Premier League in a fairly seamless fashion, hit the ground running & therefore perform better, than fellow compatriot Negredo!
If Vermaelen leaves...yes to Vertonghen, no brainer for me.
Lloris instead of Szez, no. As a backup yes....
Soldado? For a good prize, yes please of course I would take him
Lamela? Yes please....
Eriksen? yes of course
AVB's transfer business looked impressive to start with, but looked less impressive as the window went on - for example, why bring in a player like Paulinho, who likes to play in diagonals and pass out wide, when you have in-cutting wingers like Townsend? Why buy a penalty-box predator if there's no consistent threat from the wings?
Its not the signings most of us were jealous of. It was the amount they were spending.
If we spent 110mil this summer we would have definitely won the league no questions asked

I wouldnt probably take Lloris, Vertonghen and i'd also take Lamela.
Yes hes been poor (when hes played) but i reckon Wenger could make him into a good player.

Agree there BO$$, Lamela could be/has been good.

Well the question there is whether it was AVB's transfer business or rather that of Baldini and Levy. It does seem strange to sign players that then contradict the style of play you want to have, i.e. Soldado as a lone striker with inside-out wingers. Suggests that AVB had limited control over those that came in, and perhaps an inability/stubbornness to work with what he was given.
