Inexplicable substitutions do not fill me with any more confidence for the future than they did under Moyes. How the heck does Martinez replace quality like Deulofeu and Mirallas with Naismith and Mcgready and expect to zoom in. The transitional season is looking more and more like more of the same.

Hmmmm.

Not sure how two subs could lead to a free kick that shouldn't have been given.

Then McGeady actually looked like getting past his man/to the byline.

I understand what you are saying Martis, Deulofeu looked royally Piffed to come off straight after getting in to the game. McGeady for Mirrales was ok tho.

P.s. Marshall was MOTM for me too

Felt a bit gutted for Cardiff....for a second, was a great last minute winner for us tho

Agree Marshall was outstanding although with these multi-focal contact lenses I wear it is sometimes difficult to see the far end. As for McGready getting past his man well Mirallas does that at will. Look I like Martinez but still cannot see us improving under him as we have the same problem we always have had and that is lack of investment. Not blaming anyone for that it just is what it is, we need that bit of luck. Has Bill thought about asking Paul?

I have no care about investment, have we improved? Well pets see at the end of the season. We have lost our fear of playing the big sides and we play football....not percentage football that we saw under Moyes and a belief in our younger players.

If you struggle to see down the far end, why not use the big screen at the PE as I do?

Do that Arouna but also as I sit in the corner of Gwladys, hurts my neck to crane round

Well you should have seen McGeady beat his man to the byline many times when he came on, no need for the big screen

posted on 16/3/14

'Many times' is that equal to the 3 I saw him do down the left? or equal to the amount of times you get up during the night?

Well you wouldn't have seen Mirallas get to the line and cross/pass in the first half. Mot with your multifocal contacts and sore neck from turning to the big screen

Don't disagree with that at all. Moyes was a ditherer and I said all along that he had the wrong back room staff and in particular his assistant. This has now been proven by Round managing to turn a very good side in Man Utd into one that will be hanging around the likes Clubs like ours with no money.

Sooooo.

Moyes is not a good enough manager to see that his staff is not of sufficient quality.

Greatto see us stick to our philosophy and keep playing football, not reverting to hoofing

I see that Sheedy was not a fan of Moyes.

Was not a shock to finally see someone come out and say what many knew.

Rodwell and Barkley in 11 years. Rooney was already and ready for him. Just look at how well our U18's etc are doing.

It's amazing how within a very short space of time the his stock as a top manager has all but disappeared.

I was for a long time a big fan of his,but last couple of seasons I was more in the camp of having a change.Martinez was not on my radar as an appointment, but early days as it his he's brought a change of philosophy and a positive vibe to the club.

Still got the odd niggle about certain aspects of our play, but if you live by the sword you die by the sword and he wants full commitment from every player to play possession football, even if on occasions it causes a goal to be conceded

We have been undone twice this season by the way we play. Arsenal amd Liverpool, but would rather get beat going for the win than beaten while our manager hopedwe would snatch a point

I think you missed out Sunderland too

Sunderland was hardly a beating was it? Even against City away we were in the game

Our insistance to play possession football from the back led to the loss of possession which led to the foul, penalty and sending off of our keeper.

So I'd say it undone us on that occasion. It led to the defeat

Phil, i take it back. you are correct. I had wiped that horrible day from my memory, now when I colse my eyes I see it all again

But I much prefer 1-2 games like that than all 11 players in the box defending a throw in just inside our half....or the percentage game we played from the back.

Martinez is a breath of fresh air.
