Brendan Rodgers being lined up as next Barcelona boss. Mick overlooked. You couldn't make it up!

Rodgers is a class act, best British manager for a hell of a long time.

Mick is still learning his trade, give him time, its only 20 years or so, he will maybe get a prem job one day before the step up to Spain.

This is the problem with top footballers. They lose all sense of realism. Players like Zlatan, Wardy, "the Icelandic Ibrahimovic" et-all playing for top clubs like Barca, PSG, Brighton and Wolves forget their roots. They get millions of pounds/Euros/turnips a week and think that they can buy whatever they want and people should fawn at their feet.
Most of these guys came from nothing in their home countries. They came from working-class stock like the people that they now treat like dirt and forget or don't care that people work to feed their families.
Clubs should give them a kick up the arris, not bend-over backwards to keep them happy and tell them where to get-off. They don't because they are frightened that the players will just move-on from PSG to WBA, from Brighton to Real etc... and they will lose their star players.
It makes me sick!

I'm probably being dense, but what has Ward got to do with this ?

Ward, Ibra, Ronaldo, Messi - all alike, Wolfgang. Now they have got immeasurable wealth and power, they think that they can do what they want.
Disgusting!

Wolfgang, I believe a parallel is being drawn between Ibrahimovic getting two chefs the sack and Stephen Ward being implicit in getting two Wolves managers the sack last season. Chef is very close in spelling and interpretation (though in a more specific context) to the word Chief, which is often used as to describe the manager or coach of a football team. Hence the article contains not only subtly similar scenorios but also some word association.

A fine effort and a good start to the week by DMMM.

To be fair to Stephen Ward he hasnt come out of this unharmed either. The musical based on the s$x scandal that saw him ostracised at Wolves is being scrapped after 4 months of playing him out of position as a left winger.

Wow I had no idea that it was as complex a piece of subversive satire as that. I just thought the OP had taken a random story and changed the name of the person involved to “Ward” to píss Cinci off.

I must pay more attention

Sad day indeed when we have to harp on about a player who'll never pay for us again.

Here was cinci last summer explaining his admiration of Kenny's passing game and saying his views were justified because thats the way Van Gaal and Mourinho played. Then came the season and all were slated for the desperately boring football their teams played
-----------------

Passing football is without doubt something Kenny is keen on, that isn't remotely in question.

Did you not see utd by the end of this season? Highest possession in the league incidently, but more importantly, the highest pass completion rate and Almost 500 passes a game,
Chelsea just behind them pass wise incidently.

Van gaal has developed a full on passing style, mourinho also dictates the game at his pace, albeit a slower style.

So forgive me for not feeling silly or bad for being a fan of passing football, it clearly works.

I think van gaal and mourinho have had pretty successful careers thus far, I won't be daft enough to rubbish them after a bad season.

As for Rodgers tats, I still think he is a good manager, the set up at Liverpool is a bigger problem I would sa but I fully expect Rodgers to come good again.
