I know I am biaised, but for the first time in twenty odd years following my beloved Reds, I think we play, consistently, the most attractive, aggressive, exciting football in the PL. I would love it if we get the top slot, but even if we didn't, they have done such a fantastic job this season and given me more pleasure to watch them for a very, very long time. Bring on Sunderland.

I don't quite understand the point of King's comment, but nonetheless, prankster, you've hit the nail right on the head.

Ignore King, he's never been the sharpest tool perhaps just tool is more apt.

Anyway, in regards to your article, what I find very interesting, in not just a statement you've made but also throughout these boards, is that both Chelsea and City fans seem to be of the belief that they won't win the league and seem to point to each other winning it.

Honestly, and I find this crazy, considering what I thought at the beginning of the season, just as you did, Liverpool can win the league and not only that I fancy us to do it.

Jimmy

When City won the title in 2012, I remember at various points throughout the season - it would be a shame if we (City) didn't win it. Of course, those thoughts were biased, but in thinking them, I was looking back at certain results - 5-1 away to Spurs, 6-1 away to United, numerous wins at home, etc etc. I just felt that (in my bias opinion) that such results were worthy of winning something. Which we did that season.

I get that feeling about Liverpool this season. City have been great this season - have hammered teams, and I don't think it's unreasonable to say that many people feel that City currently have the best squad. But some of the Liverpool results this season have been fantastic, and not only that, but some of the performances have been absolutely brilliant. For that reason alone, the only downside I would have should Liverpool win the title would be that it would mean that City haven't won the title.

Bottom line - if you win the league, which could still happen, then I'll congratulate you all the way.

That's a really interesting and valid observation TOOR. I think at this moment, both City and Chelsea fans, in the attempt to direct attention away from their own team winning the league, now has to look towards Liverpool.

3 teams left in the title race for me. Anyone from Chelsea, City, and Liverpool, can win it. Chelsea have the advantage. City have the games in hand. But Liverpool have the form. For me, that makes the title race simply fascinating.

Of little, if any, importance, Wayne has put United ahead at uptown Park. For any stranger to our planet, United, that's Manchester United in case you don't know, what we refer to as a lesser team in the PremierLeague, too far below us to do any damage to our position, have scored. A goal. But no matter how many other goals they score, they have undoubtedly lost their sitting position. On a perch. No, that's definitely gone. For some time too.

Sweet baby Jaysus... thicker than a whale omelette.

Good post OP. I still fancy City and Chelsea to finish ahead of us, but at the moment after every game I feel more and more like a member of the GB club.

I'm just enjoying the ride to be honest. We have played some fantastic football this season and have been a joy to watch.

Lastly if we don't win it, I hope City do.

Couldn't agree more PPD, with one exception: I can't see or predict either city or Chelsea making the no. 1 slot it's too alive!! But this is the best condition our team, our squad have been, preparation-wise, since we last picked up the trophy. Bring on Sunderland, whose Adam Johnson I would snap up tomorrow for our club.

I had Chelsea to win the league at the start, even though I knew City had the best squad. I felt the players City bought in and I include the manager in this in regards to the tactics he was gonna use, weren't suited to the rest of the squad.

What I mean is that not all the players are suited to play to the managers' system. A City fan made a good point on another thread a while back that he too believes this has been the case and sometimes it looks like there are two halves of two different sides playing together on the pitch. He felt it was half Mancini's side and half Pelligrini's. It does indeed sometimes look that way.

For me that's a scary thought for next season as this will change, with it looking more like a full Pelligrini side all playing to his system.

If a team is as committed to attacking play as Liverpool it stands to reason that they will leak goals at the other end from time to time so 100/40 ratio wouldn't be a surprise but Liverpool play to their strengths as a team by attacking as much as Chelsea do with their much more defensively minded set up
The Chelsea and City games at Anfield will go a long way to deciding a fascinating season
