Trophy, definitely.
This season, Liverpool have shown that needing the CL to mount a good title challenge is a myth.
Maybe a season without cl will do the team some good. It will be a massive blow if we didn't get cl but it's not like we genuine challengers to win it.
Trophy for me but not getting 4th will be pretty did disastrous
4th spot obviously, but why cant we get both thats the real question are we that inept as a club. We have players that lets be honest have lost faith in Wenger 1000th game they didnt turn up, Swansea was supposed to get a reaction outta them, nada.
Everyone is talking about signing WC stars in Summer, but let be honest if you were any of these players why would you want to sign for us. How do you sell the club to these players???
Trophy without hesitation...
this top 4 trophy lark is as old as Moses
we have zero chance of winning the CL and we are not accountants, we are fans, so lets all try and stop with the concern about finances at Arsenal...
Lets get back to actually lifting some silverware
Now that Arsenal are financially stable one year outside of top4 wouldn't hurt them much. If Wenger plans to stay on, which would be an absolute travesty, then CL footie really doesn't matter because he's not going to win it anyway so what's the point?
attracting players without CL football is a nightmare
we missed pretty much all our first choice targets because of it
food for thought
I dunno. If we didn't get CL I'd probably rather have a year out of Europe all together so I really dont want to finish 5th.
I want the FA Cup more though
That is obviously one of the major problems, attracting the best players with no cl football
Kaisers, true. But at least if we knew we weren't getting it we could draw up a list early on and get our business done early rather than all the mess we had in the summer just gone.
IMO we could still bring in the players to improve our squad without CL football. My main concern would be keeping people like Koscielny at the club if he feels we're moving backwards
What about Ozil? I'm sure no CL would be the perfect excuse for him to put in a transfer request.

Koscielny was the first name that popped into my head as I remember some comments from him last year sayimg he may consider his options if we don't move forward but with Sagna and Vermealens future in doubt I really can't see us letting go of another defender. Evenif iit's against his will
no champions league football would be disastrous for us, not just financially but their would be a mass exodus & attracting players even more difficult. We have probs now all our top players would leave for CL clubs, also dont forget the new Puma deal their might be a clause to pay less when not in Europe.

Is that case, we will need to be shrude in transfer market and nick players who are semi established and bring good out of them. Look at Suarez he was good but he wasn't anywhere near what he is today.
I think the only saving grace we may have is that he has a partnership with Mert that he probably won't top anywhere else
You'll end up in the Europa though won't that have a bigger impact onyour squad next season?
Yeah that's what I think kneerash. No offence as Liverpool have done great this season, but with the added amount of EL games you get, if you'd been in it you'd probably be doing similar to Spurs.
It just gives you so much more scope for injuries and fatigue that you really need a strong squad.
Koscielny was the first name that popped into my head
___
no CL football he would be gone imho, bayern, barca, psg to name a few. The players that would stay are Jenks, Gibbs, Shezza, Flamini, Arteta, Rosicky, Ramsey & Jack maybe.
Yeah it's certainly helped us this season but we knew going into the season we'd no Europe so the squad size reflects that.
We need to buy 3-4 quality players IMO in the summer, goign to have to spend up to 60-80 million to really be able to compete in league and CL as I don't think Aspas and a few others are good enough.
It's going to be a massive summer for us, we've got into the top 4 now but to stay there we need investment. Only my opinion but I think it's been the owners idea all along, to try get into the cl without massive investment and once we get in then I can see us spending a good chunk this summer. We've done well on the commercial side over the past 2 years and with added CL TV revenue hopefully we see some good players come in.
As fo rArsenal I still think you'll get 4th at least and the FA cup. For me being a fan is about the memories, like Gerrards goal in in the 06 FA cup final will stick with me forever, that's what you want as a fan so if I was an Arsenal fan I'd love the FA cup this year and you've had to play several big teams to get to where you are which makes it all the better.

The only way we'll end up with no European football at all is if we finish below 5th AND not win the FA cup.
europa league will be more competitive next season as teams will actually want to win it as the winners from next year get CL
Oh yeah FrimBoue, my bad
Point is a side like Arsenal should be going far in EL which is a lot of games. Would only hinder us more than CL
What about Ozil? I'm sure no CL would be the perfect excuse for him to put in a transfer request.
.....................................................................
Result.
I always used to think that getting into the CL was waaay more important than winning the FA Cup but it really isn't. CL is a money earner but we really don't need more money so us being also rans in the comp is now a truly pointless exercise.
FA CUP 1,000,000%!
If we balls the FA Cup from here I actually dont know what I will do. Atleast if we fall out of the top 4 it will be because of city, everton etc... but to lose the fa cup to wigan, hull or Sheffield United would be absolutely soul destroying.
Of course id rather we got both
