I am more nervous about the Spurs game now.
2nd half there we looked tired and heavy with the pressure in the last half hour.
If we do that against Spurs they have more quality to take advantage.
On the plus side, Suarez had one of his off days tonight, and will surely be back on it for Sunday.
No booking for gerrard... Amazed at that.

Some very fickle Spurs fans around.

Edin and I aren't fickle, just realistic. We've been pretty dire all year and currently our tactics are play the highest line possible and hope to get away with it. Tactics which Suarez and Sturridge with have a field day with.

I don't know, maybe that's what got laudrup the ko!
Ki is a good player, have always rated him. Swansea silly to let him go. Would take him here to be honest, better than our bench options.

Yeah, I would hardly call 'level headed' in this case fickle. We got destroyed against a weakened Liverpool side with a high-line under a good (IMO) manager. We have gone backwards defensively and managerial-y, still play a high-line, and we are now playing away.
Think us playing today will work in Spurs favour. We looked really tired by the end there.
Ki Was the turning point tonight.
This was a tough game. We should have bossed the game more but with Henderson and Allen having poor game, tge introduction of Ki and Johnson Sunderland put us under some pressure. I don't blame Gerrard. He was trying to avoid suspension. Henderson needs a rest. Just like Kuyt under Rafa, he plays every minute whether he's played well or not . Tonight he was poor. Given the ball away on many occasions. Not closing down. Doing nothing up front.
Most important we got three points.

Also lets be honest, Eriksen's goals against Southampton came from their mistakes more than our good play and we struggled to create many chances afterwards. As we said at the time, the result papered over big cracks.
Cracks that I think Liverpool will expose. Hopefully not though.
amazing that we're now 5 points clear of arsenal.
I don't think the tempo of the game has anything to do with fatigue. That was the first time that we've played the diamond with all of gerrard, Allen, Henderson and Coutinho. As soon as I saw that, I knew we wouldn't be on a 4+ goal rampage. Had we swapped sterling to start for any of the last 3, then we'd have won comfortably
Most importan it keeps up the momentum.
Vital we got 3 points, could of gone all arsenal otherwise!
I think we've become a bit spoilt and that Poyet managed the game well.
We struggled to break down their 5 at the back and 2 holding midfielders but managed to get 2 goals. We then didn't adapt well to their changes but we still won!
It was a good win.
Gerrard only 3 goals off hazard, 4 off aguero, TOP TOP PLAYER
and nearly double soldado
