I heard it may have been Soldado, and when he tried punching back he missed the target.
To be honest, the mere fact these rumours are coming out shows how much of an appalling situation we are in.
Ruud Gullit has revealed that Tim Sherwood turned down the chance to sign Luis Suarez when the striker was at Ajax.
Sherwood’s Tottenham will come up against Suarez, now one of the most feared forwards in world football, when they play title challengers Liverpool on Sunday.
But, according to Gullit, Sherwood went on a scouting mission to see the Uruguayan in Holland before he moved to Merseyside and spurned the opportunity to buy him.
‘They came to watch him,’ the former Chelsea player said.
‘I met Sherwood together with Les Ferdinand, they were Harry Redknapp’s assistants at the time and were also his scouts.
‘They asked me all kinds of questions about Suarez, so I just point blank said: “You have to snap him up, without any hesitation, in a heartbeat.”
‘“Well, we’re not sure,” they said whilst they actually watched him play.
‘That’s a huge mistake, if you ask me. Afterwards they said to me: “Well, we might have got it wrong.”’
Yeah course that happened TOOR...
I'm still bemused that AVB was sacked for Levy's mistakes and Sherwood brought in. WTF kind of way is that to run a football club? He's set the club back a few years at least in my opinion. Just when you were about to break in, too.
Hope it's true. Then maybe we get a double sacking and Levy is replaced too, having awoken the sleeping Lewis.
Grateful for what he's done, but this season is symptomatic of his style. Business first, football last, sack, sack, sack. I see the irony in what I'm saying but how else does it all change?

Ah Gullit just lied about it did he? Desperate
Sherwood is a mug, he has no idea.
Someone on the Sherwood board just posted an articles saying it's true and it'll be announced he's getting the boot at 8.30....
AVB was a Levy mistake. He took Chelsea miles backwards and couldn't handle their players, the exact same happened at Tottenham and it wasn't a surprise.
Levy's appointments just keep getting worse. Who's next? Moyes!

Sherwood board = g00ner.
No I'm not making this up, I'm not the source of the rumour, just reporting the rumour
Jeremy Kyle - he looks like Sherwood but has more footballing knowledge
This has got to be a load of old bolloçks! If it were true though, the obvious candidate is Vertonghen... and personally I wouldn't hold it against Tim for chinning him. I think we'd all do that right now if we got the chance.
Tiki reporting it on the gunner board I see...
Does this means Shi'twood is in breach of contract and doesn't get the supposed 1M payoff
Arrogant fool
Hope so..
Levy will be delighted with the savings, can put it towards a statue of himself at the new stadium if it's ever built
Don't believe a word of it. For a start he didn't look angry today, just air of resignation about him, like he's given up. That doesn't sound like someone still passionate enough to chin a player.
Tis something on Twitter so far unconfirmed.
I think we deserve Moyes.
And .... Moyes deserves us.
Perfect match, made in heaven.
Then we can "do a Fulham" next year.

Most managers see player playing badly and think "I've screwed up, what can I do to turn this around" but Sherwood is one of these 'why me' people that blames everybody else but himself when things go wrong. It's never tactics but passion, it's never formation but determination. The guy is the master of passing the buck and quite frankly I'm hoping he's smacked the entire squad just so he can't squirm out of it like the spoilt, petulant wide-boy that he is.
