That thought actually popped into my head whilst I was watching. Looked like an overexaggerated limp for what didn't seem to be a bad knock.
Looked like he didn't want to be there from the off and to be fair Soldado took a wack off Flanagan and then Skrtel and was carried off.
As he walked off (quite normally) his brain whispered he had injured himself so he started limping. Seriously.
It's very easy to believe that (as chronic said) he realised we were going to get spanked and didn't want to be associated with it, so faked injury.
I really don't like the bloke.
Reading to much into it I think
Vertonghen is a facking bottling caant who doesn't have the stomach to fight when the going gets tough and who is more concerned about keeping his hair looking nice
Talented footballer but lacking in grit and determination. Cruel really, nature gave him a natural talent on one hand and a flawed mentality on the other.
His general body language for most of this season is saying he doesn't want to be there.
A nice move north could be on in the summer to form a very nice partnership with his fellow country man.
Perhaps Hengy but everything about him on the day said he didn't want to be there. Not the only one I hasten to add one but what ever happened to leaving it a few minutes to see if he could run it off?

the fact that he is a talented player makes his attitude this season all the more disappointing.
if you want to play in CL, then why don't you, as a senior pro, and good player, take some responsibility?
Kaboul's own goal should have been cleared at the near post by Vertonghen.

It's called looser's limp
Can be a great player on his day, but this season has been poor, his attitude is appalling.
On Sunday, he threw the towel in, similar to Harry Kewell for Liverpool in the CL final a few years back (then forgot the injury and was one of the first to race onto the pitch to celebrate !!) I would not pick a player with that attitude for my sons under 11 team!! No heart No commitment = No future (if I was coach, and TBF I have the same qualifications as Tim )
I'll say this, the amount of abuse our players get from 'fans' on Twitter is shocking, If I was a PL player I'd bite back and tell them to ST FU and support the team, no wonder he couldn't give a flying fack!
He's a talented lad, but incredibly lucky, lazy, over confident, over paid!
Need to get a man in who's gonna whip some serous assssssssssssssssssssss!

Yeah, abuse our own players
Really gonna motivate them
I've noticed that Rose is deliberately straying out of position, Lennon is over-hitting crosses on purpose, and Paulinho is mis-placing passes to make a point.

Paulinho you're amazing, keep passing the wrong way, one will be good eventually
Any player that takes any notice if Twitter would end up seriously paranoid/delusional or up on FA charges week in week out! Just a playground for trolls.
Twitter can't be blamed for a lack of effort, he should of pride in himself, and prove trolls wrong by sticking in MoM performances, at least once in a while. What would not given a fack prove ? That he is as bad as the trolls suggest and just another mercenary
