Why is it a load of ballacks ?
Your team set up not to be heavily beaten, you put everyone behind the ball, you are not performing to previous standards at your club, and your fans would not have been accepting of such a performance under your previous manager, add to this, that it will be your last home game in this competition for a while.
So were exactly have I been talking ballacks ?
---
You're insinuating that we played that way due the current predicament, while seemingly ignoring that we've played identically against Madrid, Barca, and Bayern previously. As well as Arsenal and City in the league - during title & CL winning campaigns.
I think you will find we can, will, and HAVE accepted performances of the standards of last night, because while they may not be the brand of attacking football that we're used to, they do show the players actually trying. No United fan is disappointed by last night, the same way they weren't when we did the same against Bayern.
It is NOT an indicator of our current standards as it has been happening for at least 6 years, and THAT is where you are talking bóllocks.
This is why Arsenal haven't won the Champions leagues. Sometimes you need to win ugly. Arsenal would prefer to lose beautifully. That's why you don't win anything anymore.
Utd did what they had to do last hight. If they go to Bayern and keep it tight again, and nick a goal who knows what could happen.
Not aimed at you. It was for the op

Fair enough Civi.

You seriously believe last nights set up of your team, has nothing whatsoever to do with the way they are currently performing.
Oh well, my mistake.
I love when Utd don't do well because I dislike them, However they did brilliant last night, it was one of the difficult game for Moyes and did work in his favor...they have good chance to progress in Semis.

Yes. I do.
If you disagree, please re-watch our games against Madrid and the 2 legs against Barca in 08.
For further clarification that we played the most likely tactics to get a result, please see the 2 legs of Barca/Munich last season, then tell me we played defensively because we're shíte this season.
The OP obviously doesn't remember Arsenal's performance at the Allianz Arena in the last round.
This is a general point and not about last night, but there are some games where the game plan is to park the bus and other games where you cannot attack because the opposition are better and have the ball more, hence a team having 20-30 per cent possession.
You cannot simply say a team having 20 per cent possession must have parked the bus. There is more to it than that.
I swear some people just don't watch football. Some of the comments on both ManU last night, and Arsenal against the same team last month are ridiculous. Some comments can only be based on the writers support of either ManU or Arsenal,.
I was surprised by Utd's performance, i thought they were going to get thrashed and im sure so did some of their supporters. So on that basis i can understand why they are pleased about the result & performance.
Its a bit like our game vs Man City.
Nice bit of quote mining there
----------------
No, I can think freely thanks.
We were meant to get thrashed at home according to most people.
-------------------
That's true, I'm not arguing that you're rubbish or definitely out... just that I don't get why there's quite so much optimism. I suppose as you've had a poor season in general not getting thrashed was a good result. Good luck in Germany

Like I said earlier, it's not the result that matters for most people. Personally, I wouldn't have minded had we lost last night (of course, I'd be disappointed) but it was more the performance the players put in. They actually seemed to give a damn for the first time this season.
If you look back at the City and Liverpool games, in contrast with last night, they're just a complete opposite!
You would have taken that though HK and in your 1 1 you had to foul to score.
Set Piece Goal>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Foul Goal.
If wellbeck goal stood at start of the game and wellbeck took his unbelieveable chance end of 1st half man utd could have been 2-0 up at half time.
If. The biggest single word in football.
Yes if but the ref disallowed our goal and I was wondering why saw the replay and wellbeck just controlled the ball with his foot low to.
Having said the end of the game hernandez coming on getting martinez turned and martinez misses next match then schweinsteiger missing next game against us and with thiago out I wonder what midfield they will have with kroos.
I would be disappointed not to go through now with Bayern Munich suspensions on top of the fact arsenal managed a decent result and even man city did.
Fair point, Arsenal and ManC are rubbish next to ManU.
HenrysCat I watched your 2-0 win there and before your 2nd goal gervinho missed a great chance.
HK is just jealous that Arsenal can't win 1-1 against Bayern
