I'd LOVE Diego Costa, but unfortunately I think he's got 'CHELSEA' written through him like a stick of Southend rock!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
People say this frequently, Moist, but the same thing was said about Falcao and Cavani and they have yet to end up at Chelsea.
As for which striker we should go for, it's hard to decide. I've said for a while I think Lavezzi would be a great option - dangerous, mobile and fits Wenger's brief of being able to play multiple positions. Obviously it's difficult to prise players away from PSG, but you'd think after a while they'd get apathetic about playing on poor pitches in a 2nd tier league.
I think the most important quality in whatever striker we do go for, has to be mobility and a willingness to run in behind, because that type of threat literally benefits the whole of our team.

I get that, but wouldn't he look at CFC as a sort of graveyard for strikers. Also we need to compete with them now that they have to play FFP in play now.

If I was an idealist, I say 'Hell yes', but being a realist, I think Costa will look at Chelsea as a club that will pretty much allow him to pick a fee (with his wages & bonuses), earn a fortune and so on. Also, IF a bidding war breaks out, Chelsea won't bat an eyelid paying 'over the odds', with the best will in the world, I can't see Arsenal adopting a similar stance.
When was the last time Wenger signed a pace merchant striker? Feels like it was about 8 years ago.

Just having pace is not enough in the modern game for a top team, it's got to be one of many qualities like technique and shooting too.
Alexis Sanchez. And yes I know he's more of a wide forawrd
Hernadez would do very well at Arsenal

With the transfer embargo?
Balotelli. Could be a disaster or a stroke of genius

Ability wise I don't mind saying (imo) Mario has all the ingredients to be one of the greatest. But such is the scamps personality that he's never and (unfortunately) quite possibly never will fulfill that undeniable talent and potential.
With the best will in the World, I can't see Wenger going in for the lad for that very reason.

I know, but we've not exactly signed anyone with those either. We've just signed targetmen, there's not been much variety there. If we must persist with signing strikers who are decent at best then we should at least mix it up.
And I didn't include Gervinho, probably easy to understand why.
Chamakh is pacy, more so than a target man.
After thd fiasco with Suarez I think the club and Wenger need to push the boat out tp get the best striker available in the world whatever the cost. I tend tp watch mainly Arsenal games so jappy for them to devide who it should be

Yeah your right-ish, so if we keep Giroud and add another pacy striker like Remy you'd be happy with that?
Realistically - Loic Remy
giroud needs another season to show what he can do, hes only had two and thats not long enough to judge a player on

True that. He could be just going through a bad spell much like Sturridge is only having a purple patch.

Sadly I agree... he's said he is a fan of the player many times and maybe he was expected to mature better
After the division caused by the likes of RVP, Ade and Gallas I cant see him going for that type of risk
Still... he is the best player we could realistically get imo
