I have said it before and I will say it again.. I dont think Redknapp has the knowledge of the pool of footballers across the four divisions, europe, and even globally, that a top manager of his experience should have.

He prefers to stick with what he regards as tried and tested, and his favourites. An example of this would be Harry not going for Suarez based on a scouts report saying that Suarez wouldnt make it in the prem... Harry has I think since admitted that this was wrong. Luis Suarez is not an obscure footballer, Harry should have had knowledge enough to overule his scout report and bring him in. That is just an example.

On the flipside, I have to say that he has made impressive signings such as Gallas, which none of us saw coming, and that have come off. However, I have to say I am disheartened with his liking of Joe Cole, Scott Parker, Charlie Adam and God knows who else.

true to form though it was someone else's fault.

like when we signed sandro, harry was keen to let everyone know it was nothing to do with him, and when we were on a bad run last season it was the players fault, or down to the injuries, or to bad luck.

funnily enough though, when bale scored a hatrick at the san siro, it was all down to harry's half time team talk !

I must admit the non-arrival of a striker either last summer or in the winter was a worry. But to hear we were trying to buy Adams was an even bigger worry.

Does anyone know what our scouting system is like?

Whats even more worrying is, we WOULD have signed him if we could get the right people on time...and not to mention our last second bid of £250,000 for Phil Nevile

I will say it again, Harry should not be trusted with any transfer funds, i would want to leave it to either Levy or anyone else for that matter!

Harry still thinks he is in charge of Pompey or Southampton, bringing in old, sh(!)t players on ridiculous money

RRP -

In all honesty we were nowhere near buying Adams as his agent hadn't even spoken to anyone from Tottenham.

Forlone I remember seeing an interview with Harry on Febuary 1st where he said we would have got Adam if we had the time to contact people...I also had to restrain myself from putting my foot through the TV

Oh well, massive transfer window this is, I will withhold my judgment until it closes!

I do not know to be honest. Over the years we have picked up some very good players for not a lot of money (Lennon, Huddlestone for example, and hopefully more recently Rose, Walker and Naughton).

However, the lack of ability to identify a striker, who would both be an improvement and also would want to play for us, over the last two transfer windows, has been poor.

Adams agent is the brother of David Moyes so he wouldn't be that difficult to get hold of would he

Also the lack of any player coming through our youth-system is a major concern as well.

I agree on that last point Forlone... anyone young who comes into the side seems to do so as an accident... when there is noone else left.

I really do want to see Townsend Kane and Caulkier given some football next season for the first team. It would do them a world of good.

If Bostock ever sorts out his attitude maybe he could work hisway towards a CC appearance too.

As much as he is disliked by fans, when we had Comolli at Spurs, he had a great scouting network beneath him, he brought us the likes of Berbatov and Modric, do we know who is doing his job now?

What was the situation with Comolis' worth ??

He was Arnesens' replacement, was he not.
And I recall that Arnesen going to Chelsky was deemed to be a serious blow to us (they would pick up the scouting network and prospects that we had cultivated to then) .
