AVB didn't manage him properly

-----

That's a bit harsh, he was easing him in like he did with Lloris

I remember watching him play in a few games earlier in the season, and wondering if he really was a professional footballer. He was appalling, let's not kid ourselves.

But you can forgive the man as he was very young / new league / mismanaged / 4 stone underweight / very pretty.

Next year has to be a big season for him though and I'll be rooting for him to come good. So come back and ask this is in 12 months.

Some players take that bit longer to settle.....he's young, an Argentine bought from Italy, doesn't speak a word of english. It was always going to be tough.

I think the price tag led to instant expectations which he was never really going to fulfil, it would take probably half to two-thirds of the season to really get up to speed.

Look at Eriksen, a bit older, speaks the language and it took him half the season to get the pace of the game and now he's flourishing.

Its a shame Lamela has not been able to get more game time, even if ineffectual, because only time on the pitch will help him learn and improve.

Haven't really seen what he's good at.

He's not a small lad, I think his timing was off on the few times he played. It takes most players a season or so to reproduce their best.. and he's a young lad that didn't speak a word of English.

Next season

I'd sheit myself if I was a 21 year old football brought to a club who broke their transfer record to get me, while not speaking a word of the local language.

No one's saying he set the world alight in the nine games he did play in, but there's no point writing him off as rubbish either

If he is sold then he has been a flop

But I think he'll get more of a chance next season.

He did look VERY lightweight though and not that much pace. Didn't look like a winger to me.

Like someone else said, a Number 10.

Maybe:

-----------------Ade----------------

Chadli------ Eriksen----------Lamela
*************************************************
could play the chelsea formation and have sandro and capoue/dembele as holding midfielders

Need someone who can instil a system into the club

And experienced enough to realise when it's not working.

Lamels should be given a run in the team till the end of the season, cant do much worse than Lennon and Townsend

EVerytime Lamela has played he's been weak, his confidence has been low, he looks to come inside and play the easy ball, he's by far the weakest of our wingers,

Paulinho is the worst signing for me, I hope both come back stronger after the world cup

It boils my p1ss how terribly we spent the bale money. We didn't even buy a left winger to replace him. Lamella looks way way off the pace, time will tell if he ever recovers from whatever mystery spurs injury he has.

Levy, baldini and whoever else led last summers transfer policy need to take a long hard look at themselves. Awful, awful signings.

Desperate for a cb and lb.

Sign attacking midfielders

Sell caulker

Loan out bae.

Only at spurs .
