This midfield would get killed in a lot of games.

Without wanting to derail this article, would Spurs fans be happy with Benitez as manager. I think he is just what you need. I'd be massively more worried about a Spurs side with Rafa in charge, than LVG.

Rafa couldn't see a priest on a mountain of sugar!

and that would be a significant concern to me if he were Spurs boss

The way VG sets up is very similar to Liverpool.

The deep CM (Gerrard) has the ability to play out from his position and is not just there to destroy.

None of our players have the ability and vision to deliver a quick, accurate long ball stretching the opposition. Its all short passing through the midfield without enough penetration.

Personally, Huddlestone would have been perfect for that deeper role with some muscle and more advanced creativity (Eriksen/Lamela) ahead of him in CM...alas no more.

So Rafa can't see the truth if it is staring him in the face? I don't really understand how that equates to you having an issue managing Spurs. Explain yourself.

If we end up with Rafa, it will be equivalent to hoping for a sofa and getting a lamp.

DO we really want this loon as our manager?

I do not want rafa, just personal opinion, im half excited and half worried about van gaal, I think it would either be a major success or a major failure, no in between

I think he'd be a success, he's got a proven track record.. whether he'd be popular is another matter

"The cowboys and the Inter president for starters."

Don't think he will get anywhere near the same level of danger money at Spurs as for being at those clubs. No vaguely decent top-flight manager nowadays are taking jobs for the intellectual challenge, are they.

Waiting for Levy to offer van Gaal a starting contract of 18 months, and he replies with :

Actually Daniel, I'll start with 6 months (or 3 months rolling) if you don't mind.

I would give one of my testicles to have rafa at spurs.

Nominate which one, and we'll see what we can do.

It depends how the team's playing Chronic, whether the midfield can retain the ball and use it well enough. As Devonshire said, it's very similar to how Liverpool have set up this season.

For me we have to build our team around a spine of Lloris, Chirches, Sandro, Eriksen and Ade.

As Van Gaal would be the first proven manager we have had since George Graham I am quite excited

Fair enough Greatteams, I think Holtby would probably be a better fit in terms of working off the ball.. Siggy's just a personal fave
