Yes.
And No, he's already proved he's not just hot air.
Only time will tell whether his tenure was a success, I personally think it will be an exciting ride. There will be moments of frustration and there will be periods of elation.
I am happier now he has set some sensible time scales. There will be those that criticise him for his comments about buying ER back the day after getting the club and not doing it. He has now said he hopes to buy it back during 2014 I believe. This is a more realistic approach, that said it doesn't mean he hasn't already started this course of action.
I'm looking forward to the experience.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
things like buying the ground and thorp arch will take time with agreements etc.. but I can't see him wanting to pay rent on them for too long?
I say yes, but some people don't like straight talkers, so they may not come around.
Cellino knows what he wants, and I'm sure will set out to achieve it.
He has to learn this is the home of football, it's English football, not showcase Italian football.
He'll make mistakes, everyone does, he'll say and do things that some or all fans may not like, again, he will learn.
But he'll take our club forward to the PL, there'll be casualties, but always is in football.
As for buying back ER, that'll take time as those type of things do, also depends on how long Bates wants to stretch it out, can't see Cellino standing for any nonsence from Bates.................it's exciting already, lol.
I don't like him. That's the truth, guys, I know its not flavour of the moment to say it and we are all in euphoric love-in mode.
Leaving aside the reasons the FL could not decide if he failed the honesty test..... its his style I don't like, its fine in week one to talk like you are writing the Sun's headlines, it will rapidly become wearing.
The pluses are: he is in it for the long haul, judging from his long tenure at Cagliari, and he - just might - achieve success; and second, it won't be dull. Oh, and third, the alternatives (if there were any) seemed uninspiring beyond belief.
If he's successful, then of course he could become a legend, right now though he is no Leeds legend, just a rather mercurial fellow from Italy who has bought the club and has a rather mixed record at his previous (still current) Italian club.
I doubt I will change my view as stated above, but of course if he brings success I will end up pleased he has come here. Just won't be joining the love-in.
Seems leeds fans find it hard to have middle ground... I guess that's what years of misery do to you. Owners managers etc are either Wayne kerr's or legends. When in truth life is shades of grey and most people are neither.
I understand the euphoria and I'm pleased the guy's in. I actually quite like his no nonsense approach and he's certainly a one man media circus. I'll reserve judgement on him, as I would any owner, proof in the pudding etc.
If he's good to his word and buys back the ground and training facilities and invests in the squad, then the likely moments of madness will be a small price to pay considering our starting position.
Hold on and enjoy the ride.
Massive Si!
2020, respect your opinion. But, you certainly underestimate what Cellino has already done.
As for the FL and it's flimsy test, Cellino is more fit and proper than any of the previous lot including Bates and those that sit on the FL panel, Shaun and all.
Milky, I reckon Massimo's reassessment of timetable on ER & TA buy back are down to the reality he now finds behind the curtain. I saw Phil Hay's comments on the amount of money it will take to pay debts and wages and right the ship, before MC can even think about ER & TA. Massive job ahead for Massimo.
I agree bats... Next day purchase was a bit optimistic... I think he was stating his intentions. Like I said, the guy has my blessing (bet he's chuffed about that!) just a bit early for all the 'legend' stuff.
milky, measured approach to MC (like 2020), is probably best here. I'm just fed up (like thousands of others) with
being served slices of crap cake. MC is a breath of fresh air. And I have used the phrase 'Legend' myself in the same sentence as Massimo.
Ha ha. I'll probably use it myself bats. Like you say, he looks like a breath of fresh air, and we haven't had much to cheer about for decades. I'm just a cynical old git... Don't key me pee on your parade!
milky, I'm a negative middle-aged git. Massimo has cheered me up
Batty, Milky, he's cheered a lot of fans up and yes it's going to an exciting but interesting ride.
He'll make mistakes, all owners and managers do, actually, better include coaches in that now too, lol.
He'll have his advisers and I'm sure he'll find his footing, and it'll take a bit of time to learn about English football and the way we do things over here, but I believe he'll get there.
I would love to be a fly on wall when he buys ER back from Bates, do you think Bates will have to put his name on bill of sale and other documentation?
2020, we'll save you a place at the love in, just in case
Luvr, what if these cameras are linked back to a certain person and the case goes to court, but, just before, Massimo agrees to drop charges if a certain person drops the asking price on ER buy back? I have a feeling this is a well thought out plan by MC.
Ya could be right Batty, it could happen.
I'd like nothing more than to see Bates in court on charges, but if Cellino gets the ground cheap then he's pulled one over Bates, and that will hurt him too, lol.

I rarely change my opinion! Feel free to remind me of my errant views .
Don't believe life will be easy but he's better than GFH and Bates albeit I might be clutching at straws. Italian straws direct from Sardinia.......
Its hard to think he will be worse, there I agree with you.
Lets hope we don't find out that it IS possible to be worse .......................
2020, does that mean ya might have 1 foot in door at the love in already?
Again I say 100000% more than the previous owners, but still no
Is that a reflection on how bad our previous owners were Exile?
