Was Deadman your secret weapon today then ?
Misses clear town penalty in 1st half
Books Lynch for 'time wasting' after 25 minutes
then sends him off...
then thinks, I'm going for a pair here and send our other CB off...and gives you a penalty which wasn't..
How does all this work ?..oh yes, you're near the top, we're near the bottom and deadman has already made his bets before the game...
Ah well...
best of luck (if you've any left) for the play offs...
Jacko - he was warned for time wasting before the first booking for .... time wasting!
Will we need the play offs Jacko? Burnley are wobbling and have to play Ipswich, Wigan and Reading. Could be our year.
Burnley are wobbling big time, one of the foundations of their attack out for the season. They are looking jaded and tired and have three very tough fixtures, it's possible they could chuck it away at the last fence.
Would be desperately unfair for them but hey ho.
Not a bad game today and won comfortably at about 65 per cent but we need to up are game quite a step if we are to succeed in the play offs
UTR.
JOB DONE!!!!!
Will people shut up about the play offs. Don't you listen to a word I'm saying.

I'm with Spart on this - but a few more games would help as cutting it a bit fine.......
Or to put it another way, Burnley may have a wobble, we may challenge, but we may run out of games
Wtf "unfair"?
It's a 46 game league: you finish where you finish. Burnley have been massively lucky with avoiding injuries to their squad so far, but it's a long season that ends in May, not February.
We've had all our tough fixtures and are behind Burnley who have tough fixtures to come: if they win them then they deserve second, but if they don't that isn't unlucky, that's just football.
"Unfair"? Fck off.
I'm just glad Steve McClaren rest the entire team. In the second half.
Well that was just a training session.
Red cards ruined the contest.
Excellent attendance folks! Not cheap!
Crappy Donnie ground next ..
What's Donnie's nightlife like?
I tend to be somewhat more pragmatic than some it would appear. For Burnley to have achieved what they have to stumble at the final fence due to injuries could easily be considered unfair if you have the ability to walk in another's shoes.
If we profit from that so be it yet some would say it would be less deserved as we had a chance to cement that second spot and blew it.

However, it would have been nice to get a hatful. Both sending offs were correct - both were second s, don't think the ref had a choice.
Good performance - as long as that languid, lethargic, keep-the-ball and do nothing when they were down to 9 men was deliberate...
Oh, and Grant saved us again, world class, we cud-a and shud-a been 2 down.....
Tend to agree with 666. It won't be unfair but it will be fortunate perhaps given the current scenario. It was hardly a chance to 'cement' it but it would have put us in the driving seat and not being dependent on others as we are now.
Agreed with Fin and 666 it's Burnley's to throw away. If we prosper then so be it
To Huddersfield fans - wasn't the ref today Darren Deadman the same one who reffed your play-off semi against MK Dons 2 years ago?
We were in second and by some pretty questionable performance we let burnley back in. We had the opportunity to cement that second place and performances like Birmingham away were us blatantly discarding that opportunity.
Injuries IMHO are an area, to a degree, outside of team control and to miss out on promotion could easily be seen a tad unjust. Where as the position we were in at brum was are own doing and could only be laid at the feet of the team.
If burnley blow it which is a big if then I'll take it all day but it would be pretty difficult to swallow if it was us.
When talking about bad luck, let's not forget the effect that the blind referee Mr Robert Hadley had on our losing 3 points to the Burnley game and another 3 in the game after that when Martin was not allowed to play.
Any good luck going - we deserve.
You're all idiots.
It's not fortune, luck, fluke or any other such nonsense that Burnley are dropping points now as we gain them, it's down to us having already played the tougher oppo that they are now encountering.
If you 'need' something to 'blame' then blame the fixture list, or the rules that prohibit seeding, or whatever you like but don't say we'd be fortunate because we'll be where we deserve to be when the league program is done and not before, as will Burnley.
Burnley play Blackpool 5.15pm Friday. If they don't beat them then its game on. All Derby can do is win their games. Aint nothing over till its over!!!

Backo: If Burnley can't beat Blackpool then they don't deserve promotion!
What a player Thorne is by the way.
Have to concur with 666 regarding 'luck' , good, bad or otherwise. Everyone plays everyone twice. Teams set out at the start of the season snf and plan for the duration. When the season ends, every team will finish in their rightful place. No exception.
Unless, of course, Bolton go down.
Second half had all the marks of settling for 3rd or 4th ... I can understand a bit the mentality of the team in pretty much knowing the job was done and they could coast ...But to my mind you fight to the last and this has the advantage of keeping the momentum going into the playoffs .
Milf...There's not many of us left that can pass a ball like Thorne The pass for Russell was absolutely sublime. Russell's run and finish was everything about our Johnny!! Russell is capable of that quality. If 1 chance comes to seal our season one way or another I hope Russell is on that chance. Best finisher at the club
Was well taken ... Johnny looks like he enjoys every second of the game...
