We got Massimo now,so all that is water under the bridge
ETS ............ most on here when GFH took over were just glad to be rid of Bates. Some to be fair had a good idea they were potless chancers, many allowed them benefit of the doubt.
I'm not sure I read many that thought they'd come armed with a barrel load of cash - they're an investment bank, it's just not in their DNA. Some hoped they would, most accepted it had to be an improvement on the Bates tenure .............. how wrong was that !
ETS...............
GFH were naïve in the extreme, they took on something too big for them and failed.
Bates saw the opportunity initially to acquire the club, but then through his own actions it some became obvious to him that he wasn't exactly accepted by the fans. He then needed to get rid of the millstone round his neck. He was losing hand over fist because of the actions of the fans. His only option was to sell when he did.
(RSL will tell you here that he got rid of him through his actions alone!!)
GFH have realised the error of their ways and are in the process of offloading. They should stick to banking.
Massimo Cellino is offering us, the fans, a new lease of life for our club. This fellow has a pulse and is bringing the pulse of our great club back to strength.
We are all euphoric that Bates went, we are as happy now that GFH are also going and that we now look to have a new dawn.
It is as simple as that.
As you are so keen on the trials and tribulations at our club, here's my wish for you and all Doncaster fans, I hope Bates takes you over and then eight ten years later sells you to GFH.
Obviously that will never happen, as sadly at your club, Mr Bates would not get the exposure his ego craves.
