2020, maybe folk are reeling from your outing of eric or gobsmacked that njs has uturned again and returned to ja606.
Driving through Bavaria for easter holidays is my excuse for not being here much at the moment
Ah Bavaria, (hic), a wonderful place ................
Oh how sweet, Jonty is on holiday and he's thinking of me...!
And LIW suggests I am weird...?
2020
Good thread. Can I just say, when I go on holiday, I don't think of Jonty, or NJS, you or anyone else on here.
I think the reason is probably because most folk are enjoying the sunny weather.
Jonty love, would you like me to send you a signed photograph...?
Season faded out
Can't get relegated, takeover complete and we've s h it players
Nothing really to talk about
VOF, we'd normally fly, but did a road trip this time, by Tegernsee right now, traditional farmhouses, snow covered mountains and a beautiful lake.
Great chance to recharge away from work.
Yep, I've been down that way myself. Lived in Holland so drove down through Deutschland, through the Black Forest and into Bavaria.
Amazing country and great people (if you're willing to give the language a go ).
Rhine and Mosel are great places to visit too - and accommodation is surprisingly cheap, if you're happy to use a B&B instead of hotels.
Enjoy
We're not mathematically safe, yet.
We need either a win or two draws or
For the bottom three to all lose one
More each. I know our goal difference
Is solid by comparison. So safe there.
Honestly, still nervous until we have the
Points needed. Oh, and it's Barnsley next.
We seem to always cave to them.
Bavaria, brings back many memories, such as emptying the German beeroffs of all the Apfelcorn while we were on excercises.
On one particular 2 week long excercise, we had a day off and went to Luxemburg, very french looking with more tables and chairs outside than in.
Some great architecture there though.
Was with the Army Air Corps at time, after having an off duty night drinking with locals in their local pub, I lost my blue beret to one of local women I had my wicked way with in her barn.
I wonder if she's still got it.
why would Jonty post at this rather positive time? - Wait till Cellino gets reported on twitter about a possible, or a maybe report of him kicking his dog... he'll be back a good old article ready put his doom and gloom back on the board.
Jonty's already posted on this thread twice (thrice now) Italians.
But don't let the facts get in the way of your stalking or inability to read.
VOF, we drove down via Mechelen (the Dutch one) was a long drive. Wife's Father is buried here in Rottach-Egern, she's German so we do fine with teh language.
We're here for her mum's birthday and the family know I make cider so I've brought a crate down with me and bringing lots of Grolsch bottle type beers back as cheaper to buy them in crates here than buy empties in UK on ebay!
Have ended up trading some bottles at local beer warehouse for local stuff they liked the cider so much, might make this a regular trip that gets me free beer for a year and expands my cider making enterprise!
It's a really long drive even from Brunssum (NL) where I used to set off from. Mind the main motorway (can't recall the number) used to be free from speed limits. Used to cruise at 110-120 mph for many parts! Had the car at the time to do it in (Ford RS), so journeys were just a tad quicker than in the UK!
Even at those speeds you had to keep eyes well peeled for the BMW/Merc/Porsche coming up behind you at 170-180 !!!!
As I said before - Germany is a wonderful country (or that was my experience of it) and so are the people. I always found that as long as you made an effort with the language, most would respect it and help out with any difficulties/confusion.
Quite envy you - enjoy the break .......... we can resume disagreements when you get back i'm sure ...........
I've also visited germany many times, great place great people.
The most bizzare thing was when I was in a small village near Hannover,I wanted to go to a gig in Bremen (100odd km) but I didn't have a car.
Was chatting to a barman in a pub explaining my predicement, when some random bloke just gave me his car keys,he said leave it outside the pub when you get back!!!
Top bloke
Este, I had similar experiences there. Brilliant people.
Very friendly. Might be the cleanest country on the planet also. Fine beer on top.
Ya right about the Porsches etc on AutobahnCaeser, was common practice in Germany.
I use to have an Opel Admiral, high top speed. 220k's down autobahn and a Merc or Porsche slowly pulls up behind ya, indicater going saying, excuse me I'd like to pass if you don't mind. I'd pull over and they'd cruise past with ease.
Had a lad who bought a convertible, cost him a small fortune, thing is, he use to go through the main streets of Bielefeld with his indicater going in outside lane, he looked a right D..k, but it was funny to watch from behind.
I, for one, am happy that talk of unfit owners, lack of finances and indeed administration is disappearing off the boards. Instead we are starting to talk about football, coaches and potential signings.
For all the negativity around Cellino, there seems to be untold positivity around the club since the FL did the decent thing.
All good as they say!
Great people and great country, Germany?

They've killed millions of people in wars, bombed a church and a grocers shop in Armley, end of the street where I lived without any provocation whatsoever!!!

Wise words.

Silly comment (albeit I do concede to your attempt at humour)

He's usually more amusing than that AHC.
I didn't accept it as a stand out joke as Armley is not renowned for grocers shops..! The nearest Armley got to grocery during the war was tripe or chips...!
Just my blinkered, u-turning, opinion of course.
It was supposed to be a silly comment!!
Doesn't silly pass for humour anymore, do we have to humour in contrived stages...serious humour as it were? That's a very Germanic concept, haha...
I will keep to my 'silliness' and leave most of you to your serious humour...silliness makes me chuckle and laugh anyway!
The Germans wanted to bomb a munitions factory in Armley, Greenwoods & Batley I believe, they missed and hit a church and grocers...reduced to rubble, I played marbles as a kid in the ruins of the church!
Quite a few unexplored bombs were found years after in the locality.

I didn't say stop posting silly comments, there's some do it intentionally (like you) and there's some do it unintentionally (and we all know who those three are!!). I merely said it was a silly comment. Cor pfft, if we got out of our prams when people didn't agree with us we'd all live in Croxley Green, Wakefield or Middleton..!!
If you can call that living.
That reminds me Eric...I've run out of A4 plain paper, Croxley Green Script...must get some more...haha...
I am silly!
Ps. Herman....what a silly name, hahaha....
We should be able to name our 'non existent pseudonym' parents...!
