Am I not right in saying that Fleck is at Rangers cause hes Allys nephew?
He has never looked much of a player IMO. He is not Celtic or Rangers standard anyway
name m8 he is robert flecks nephew
I think he should have been sent out on loan ages ago. The boy showed glimpses of ability and next thing we are hearing he was going to be the next Rooney , that seems really embarassing now.
Young players need good first team experience and this is where Fleck must go now. I actuallly think the boy has decent potential, however he has to show a hunger to want to play the game. As you say, at the moment he just looks happy to collect his wages. Time will tell whether he has the desire to progress in his career, but a loan is certainly the best option.
To be fare the boy was class at every level until he reached the first team.
A season long loan in the championship will do him good
That's fair enough Duke, but there are plenty of players who look the part while playing amongst their age groups. Firt team football is a totally different area and he didn't step up. The point is he kicked a couple of balls and the next thing he's haralded as a world beater! This didn't help his development. I hope he gets a good loan and improves his game.
He's 19 gor crying out loud. He still has time to make it at Rangers. The stupid comparisons with Rooney have not helped him at all making people believe that his career is destined for the scrap heap because he's not a first team regular at his age. A bit of persective please.
Agree he hasnt stepped up but he did a lot more than kick a couple of balls.
I watched him pretty regularly and he was a stand out and well worth the hype and predictions.
What went wrong Ive no idea
Evidently I exaggerated in saying he kicked a couple of balls. I was however making the point that we put far too much pressure on our young players after little success on the pitch. I agree that he looked very good on occassion and has plenty of time to develop. As I said I hope he gets a good move and comes back a more complete player.
The Cruising Avenger (U6395)
I get what your saying, but at 19 you would expect he to be pushing for the first team, but he is nowhere near that quality yet. Lafferty, Naismith, Davis (prob a few others) were all coming together at 19
Its hard not to hype up such a tallent.
Look at the Ferez situation and what was the American kid called.
We have no idea how they will go shi7 they are still boys still growing.
Give a Glasgow kid a grand a week when his mates are on the dole or at best getting a quarter of that and it takes a strong mind to keep the focus.
I think that where Fleck made his mistakes.
From what I hear from my tic buddies Ferez has his feet on the ground so he has a chance but its probably no more than 50-50.
Freddie Adu was the american boy. Whatever happend to him?
If you are good enough you are old enough. It seems some "future star" just can't cut in at the first team where as others like James Forrest who were not stars in the peer group can cut the mustard at the step up.
fleck will come good. I agree, he needs a season loan. Even to somebody like st mirren would be good.

That worked for Charlie Adams
And McGregor when he went to the Pars. Came back a far better player, Im sure he saw what it was like training and playing with a bunch of fckwits and decided to tow the line
spot on murney and sheriff.
Whoever he goes to, it has to be a team who he will get 30 plus games for.
Sorry but hold on. I thought the championship was of a better standard than the SPL, or so everyone keeps telling me. How is he all of a sudden going to get a game playing for a top level championship side who are going to be playing for promotion?
