Calm down OP. Its not his fault that he got picked but more importantly not get subbed.

Yes, he only gets £300k per week if United start winning things. He's still on his basic £250k p/w.

You're right, it's 250k plus add ons. A farking bargain. If he was Scottish he'd be playing in a (different) mid-table team.

If you had to pick one from Hernandez or Rooney to be sold, which one would you sell?

With Mata and Kagawa playing in behind, I'd let Rooney go in a flash.

When everyone was saying he was on 250k a week in his previous contract it was false.
He was on 160k a week. The media were making up stories to sell papers

Been saying it since the early season, he's simply not the player he once was. He will have a good game now and then but generally isn't as talented as quite a few other players in the squad. I cringe when people(especially commentators) praise him for charging back to cover the defense. It's poor positioning and a waste of energy, if everyone tried to do each others job on the pitch the team would never gel and be a total mess.

He is the 3rd best #9 at the club and 3rd best #10. Yet we make him the captain, start him when unfit and the highest paid player in the league.

oh so he got a £90k raise? Probably still cheaper than replacing him with someone of a similar standard.

And on today's performance, he can't hit a 5 yard pass.

And in some cases even refused to see the 5 yard pass preferring the 40 yard knock to the right to Baines chest.

He's on minimum wage plus bonuses and stuff to take it up to 300k a week

In terms of his salary. I'm sure the amount paid to him by the club is 160k p/w, but it goes up to a potential 250k with endorsements and sponsers and all that stuff.

It will be the same again when his new contract kicks in, he'll probably recieve something like 200-220 from the club and then the rest will be made up from sponsership deals and anything else making income for him (some of which the club arrange).

The club don't directly pay him the numbers bandied about in the media, but it's probably close to the amount he earns altogether from various sources.

Either way, the amount of money he earns is utterly ridiculous.

What is your source for the salary being only £160k per week?

Remember that 60 yard attempt to Valencia when he had players running into space around him?

Christ he had a shocker today, absolute shocker

I watched the Liverpool game and suarez provided an outlet (basically stayed on the halfway line) for most of the game

I keep banging on about how capello used to say rooney isn't disciplined enough to play as a number 9 but people want to believe its passion

also captaincy isn't ofr him, he needs to have the focus taken off him not put on him, historically for England and utd a rooney as ''main man'' = nothing

In the first half in particular I jumped out of my seat. he had the easiest pass in the world to play to Nani who was in lots of space on the edge of the box.
Instead thumps it 50 yards to the far touchline to Smalling and it gets intercepted.

Benched - yeah I was screaming as was my lad at that. But this is teh norm, no matter where he is on teh pitch he has one pass, ping to the right.

truthfully give rooney space and time and he can do well, under pressure he cannot and this appears to be picked up by tams as they just pressure him asap and today I counted 4 chances where rooney lost teh ball and we were immediately outnumbered and under pressure, only one resulted in a goal though and that was teh penalty

last season I said that we lose teh ball too quick up front and that doesn't help our MF or defence, and this is what I meant

Be careful in these parts what you say about Rooney. Some of the elder chaps (Whose opinions I respect) have him down as one of the greatest players in England and Utd history.

Personally he should have been flogged in the summer. Fergie gave Moyes a free pass to do so and he didn't.

just heard rooney interview on MUTV, basically saying what I said ie no penetration and no players making runs

anyone get it to put on here?
