Is Sherwood Underrated?

I'm assuming this is a WUM. Anyone who's watched Tottenham under him will know he's facking clueless.

I agree give him a few years and then pass on the reigns to David Moyes

Waiting for op to suggest Sherwood is better than Wenger...

No he's not underrated, he's working with a squad put together after hundreds of millions invested yet they are further away from where they wanted to be than under AVB

Despite his cockney wide boy ideals he seems like a decent football person but quite clearly not ready to manage at the top level

Yes he's underrated. He deserves a 6 year contract.

Maybe we should get rid of Arsene and replace him with Sherwood, eh Penguin?

Incredible how somebody who spends most of his time on here questioning everything Arsene does is suggesting Sherwood is underrated

arsenal lost at stoke, spurs won at stoke

tim > wenger obviously

Sherwood has been a success, I'm not WUMming. No Spurs fan ever expected to get fourth after where AVB had left them. So why is everyone hanging him out to dry in Sixth, even though he's got 12 months left on his deal everyone is assuming he's going to be sacked and isn't even questioning whether he should be or not?

Everyone thinks they should get someone with more 'experience' but who has more at Spurs than him?

I think spurs fans give him hard time. Now I don't watch spurs but just looking at results and stuff and stats he seems to be spurs best ever manager...but the fans say he has no real stability like AVB did

He has the best PL win % of any manager theyve had

posted on 26/4/14

Exactly 50, he's been far better than AVB was and I can't see many other managers doing better from his position when Sherwood took over in December than he's done.

as a neutral footy fan, I think Sherwood has made spurs into a nasty, cynical and dirty side. hope they sack him

Sherwood has done a good job.

Long term I don't think he's the answer. But his premier league record has been very good.

They made a mistake sacking AVB. At the time of sacking he had 3 wins in his last four and you could actually see a direction for his side. He's doing well at Zenit now too. Sherwood on the other hand seems to just treat his tenure as a joke and has seen Tottenham climb out of the cup competitions AVB was taking seriously

Exactly. The bookies favourite is who, Pocchetino? He might be a better manager than Sherwood, but would he have led Spurs to any higher than sixth? Don't think so.

I rate Pochettino highly. If we can't get him, De Boer or Benitez then I'd be happy with Sherwood to stay on.

Are you on acid ?

Ok, all jokes aside, he has done a fairly good job of steadying the ship. But I think this is the question... is it actually because he has so little footballing acumen? AVB seemed to make the whole process ( from training to playing style) ridiculously convoluted. Maybe Sherwood's lack of experience means that he's just simplified things, and brought Spurs' play back to basic fundamentals.

The point is I don't know why it's such a foregone conclusion that he'll depart this summer because a more experienced coach is needed, when he hasn't done a bad job at all.

The only possible scenario allowing Sherwood to remain as manager is if all of Tottenham's targets turn them down.

They'd be foolish to turn down Pochettino if he wanted to go there.

I Sherwood isn't a big enough name for Levy.

posted on 26/4/14

Levy needs to get the choice of manager right this time !!!

I don't dislike Tim tbh and I'm fed up of our players talking about champions league in the media before games and then going missing during them ffs
