And so is Leeds United. No one wants to do buisness with Ken Bates nowadays so if the fans stop going and we start getting into money troubles again, who will be brave enough to take on Bates asking prices....?
I wonder who has the worst owners - West Ham or Leeds?
Leeds United finished? You are still believing the Bates spin
At least our owners have got a manager who will sort us right out and arent afraid to spend to bring us back up.
They want to make a profit, and good luck to them if they get us back up and sell us on
Yeah thats a clever idea. Your in Millions of pounds of debt, so the best thing to do is to spend even more money to get your self out of trouble...
We havent spent much, 4m on nolan and 1.5 on taylor. The rest were free transfers.
Dont be jealous because you have forgot what its like to buy a player. I dont dislike leeds, i feel sorry that you have bates in charge and grayson has a tough job
5.5 Million is enormous for this Division these days and unprecedented in recent times. If you don't go back up you will be at risk of going out of business, then the points deductions kick in, then you can't afford to move stadiums and it all goes pear shape big time. Rather you went up than Leicester though!
dubaiwhite: Agreed. If West Ham don't go up within 2 seasons, then there could indeed be serious financial repercussions. The owners have acknowledged that the club needs to be in the Premiership by the time we move into the Olympic Stadium (2013/14).
Nolan is worth every penny

If Leeds United continue to win, Ken Bates knows that the 'morons' of which he speaks will continue to throw money his way.
And deaqr fellow, I would suggest you do too.
I8Manu, I can only guess that, as this was posted directly after my DOM posting, it is in direct response to that article. Read Dom's YEP article again, he is a man that has worked in the business many years and still does and seems to have a passion for our club - his best line that I would quote in response to this article is....
"It sounds simple but it’s not. The idea that Bates walks out and Leeds automatically go from strength to strength is a bit far-fetched."
or possibly....
"The question I’d ask of those demanding Bates’ head is where would his replacement come from and who would that replacement be?
I accept that Leeds might be a very shrewd investment but I don’t see people queuing up to buy the club. If Bates was to turn around tomorrow and say ‘I’m out’ then what would the future hold?"
All fine and well saying get him out but until someone else can take over what the hell can be done?
Look at Newcastle with Ashley - he was (rightly so IMO) hated by the fans and they protested and made lots of noise but no-one could buy him out (don't care if he over-priced it, that's the bare facts).
You REALLY want Bates out? Go find someone to buy him out, that is the only thing that will get him to move on and keep Leeds stable as it is now.....

I used to get a program and probably burger and drink at half time, what's that, a tenner?
Don't buy any of that now. Using your 5 to 2 per head Elmondya, that is a 60k loss per match.
That's 2.5 mill just from concessions.
If only fans realised the power they had in their wallets.
Fan Power Will Destroy Bates
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A power mains one or does it have to be battery operated ?
Why hasn't anyone tried this before?
I maintain that if Leeds keep winning, the protests will be seen as futile.
Eric is correct, if we're winning this will soon be shelved, but not forgotten because it will come back again, and again.
The fans have been paying top prices for far too long, and after we supported the club for all these years post 03, the fans want to see a return on this investment, because that was part of the deal. We were promised prem football, thats why we accepted prem prices, but when it seems it's not going to happen the fans will rise again.
Remember that thousands of fans have already voted with their feet, and stopped coming when we went into L1. They are fans who refused to pay those high prices, and also fans with kids who couldn't afford to take them, so opted out. We're the only club who are not bothered about our future fans, because we have no interest in bringing them in on cheap tickets now, Bates wants as much cash as he can get out of you , because he's not bothered about the future, he wants cash now. Kids in Leeds are running around wearing manc shirts, spuds, chelski and scouse stuff, because they are big brands and they see them on telly all the time with big name players. They can't afford to go to ER, so get their football from Sky. These kids will be lost, a lost generation because they are ripped off. We supported the club, and are being shafted. We should have had kids for a quid etc, which would fill the ground, but he thought sod them, they're not coming in on the cheap, morons.
As some on here know, I've refused to visit ER again whilst Bates is in charge. Enough is enough for me, and when I saw the lack of ambition this summer, I just thought sod it.
When we went into L1 many fans decided that the prices fans pay should reflect the quality of the entertainment, as you do when going to the theatre or a concert. They decided it was cheaper to go to Wigan, Blackburn, Hull, Burnley to watch top prem footballers, rather than pay more to see us playing Gillingham, Northampton etc. Those fans will not be back until it seems that we've got promotion. Yes there will be some on here who will call them plastic fans, but its there money and if they prefer to watch Rooney etc, fair play its a free country. Bates has built his business model on shafting as much cash out of fans for as long as possible, and he's getting away with it.

ERIC yes may be futile but he has to come clean what he is doing with our money who own what, which bit etc....we must keep the pressure on him to come clean NOT A CHANCE I KNOW BUT ......
KWB keeps stating I saved your club, I don't take a wage packet, FECKIN RUBBISH, money runs his life, he knows he is sitting on a gold mine, he is only hear cos Leeds fans are the best there & yes if we keep winning more & more will come back & line his pocket, who actually owns the ground ? therefore pockets the rent etc......... I have said & still say we have the squad to keep us in this league, may be not prmotion but my fingers are tightly crossed, think he couldv'e shown more conviction & more intenet.... b ut IMO what narks us the most is where is all the cash going.............
The facts of the matter is these,
He's our Chairman.
If we continue to win and we bring in a couple more players we'll all be happy.
If, god forbid, we're successful in the season and gain promotion, there will still be folk who knock him.
There'll be plenty still harping on about KB even after he's long gone.
And you all know I'm right.

I agree with your general premise about the man.
I just happen to believe that the club is bigger than the man.
I consider him to be a hard nosed businessman and one who is in it for his own gain, I'd like to meet a businessman who isn't. I know he riles folk and believe he actually enjoys it!
The truth is that he is in charge, he appears to have the support of the manager and the club is now solvent.
I have said many, many times that I would like to see more investment in the squad. My argument here is that, if all the players were fit, we have as good a squad as any in this league. I would prefer us to be better than all, hence my wish for more investment.
I happen to genuinely believe that if he had not taken us on, we might not be here now.
Re the ticket prices, they are high, but I pick and choose my games (home and away) and only go when I can afford it. I would love to go every week, but work, family and other reasons prevent it.
