Ryan come back?

I think JR could have made life far more difficult for the Board and the club if his motives were as sinister as you imply. He has made no move for the return of his loans and you surely cannot dispute that he still supports the club just as enthusiastically as anyone. You can't just turn off your life-long passion.

Whatever you may think about this "lying" which occupies your emotions so thoroughly, his heart is still in Doncaster Rovers and we must surely accept that he fervently believed that the Takeover was right for the club at the time.

So, put your own emotions on one side and take him at his word. Show him some of the generosity of spirit that you extend to "Young DIcky".

After all, he has done a great deal more for the club than his protégée. We may not owe absolutely everything to him, but surely the time has come to bury the hatchet.

Donaldo,
Was I right when I said Ryan was lying?

I think if you read back I actually forgive Ryan and say I would like to see him back isn't that being "generosity of spirit"?

You say "take him at his word" for me he lost that with his lies and his fiasco at Barnsley.

As the saying goes "Trust is hard earned but easily lost"

Could Ryan have made it more difficult for the board? not really he did his best to get his way but Bramall stood firm.

To recap I say Ryan can make a come back provided Bramall says so.

I will forgive but I won't forget

Justice for the Belles.......

The Belles 2 - Man City 1

It has been a successful time for most Doncaster sport with the Belles top of WSL 2. I see too that the Knights have just achieved what Rovers did last year - they won Natonal League 1 and returned to the Championship at the first attempt.

Don,

I am getting a liking for the "Club Donny concept"

My Nephew played for the Dons and I have just found out that my Great Niece's husband is playing for the Nights. That only leaves my family to gain a connection to the Rovers and the Belles to achieve utopia. I am working really hard with my two grandsons and granddaughter to achieve that target.

I would have liked the Belles game on Rovers Player last night which would generate more support for the girls. I am trying to get an answer from the club why their games are not on RP.

Ref the Belles on RP,

RP does not belong to the club and is run by a third party contractor for the Football League.
The club will make a request to do the commentary on RP but are not very hopeful of any success.

There must be some commercial enterprise out there that would be interested in doing it and buying the film rights? Gregory's Girl rings a bell!!!! and the Belles story line is much better.

Just take a look at the highlights paying particular attention to Smithy's winner.

Sorry for taking it off topic but I really enjoyed the game last night.

Back on topic.......................

Is no one going to defend and support probably the best Chairman we ever had until his recent behaviour?

If not that is very sad.

I agree with you on this Alex, with JR we wouldn't be supporting the Rovers today.
I used to get stick from certain quarters for voicing that opinion but it is only a statement of fact.

Alex: I defended him against your attack in the first comment on your article which I must say seemed rather hostile.

We need all the help we can get

Don,
Not hostile just a little provocative I wanted to take peoples minds off the big game. I expected more people supporting him but apart from you that was it.

If you were to read back my comments before that stupid TO started you will find I was 100% behind Ryan but I consider that he fell from grace big time because of his actions supporting it.

I consider Ryan to be one of us, a supporter of the club we love. His views and comments carry as much weight as any of us now whereas before he was our leader.

Alex, the Belles aren't part of the Rovers' "Club Doncaster" - they are run on a Charitable basis - they really are a community club. The following from the Belles website.

"The Belles for The Community initiative was launched November 2009, becoming Britain’s first social enterprise delivering community, social, health and educational services with female sport as a focal point. This launch was based on extensive research amongst a large number of community organisations and agencies within Doncaster and South Yorkshire and it has certainly raised the profile of the Belles significantly. It has also demonstrated the importance of opening up women’s football to the community and to become more than ‘just a football club."

This is why it is so great that they beat Man City last night - the FA talks about Community but decided to relegate a real community club in favour of a big money club. Man City have signed some of the top women players in England, including the England Captain and yet our little community club that works with schools and other organisations to develop the game and to develop local talent came out on top. Sweet (eh) FA?

Alex: Perhaps people think the subject has been exhausted. No one knows whether we would be in this desperate fight if we had been taken over, but I suspect not.

Crazy,
As far as I am concerned the Belles(Doncaster Rovers Belles) are part of the family but thank you for the information, I stand corrected.

Don,
I suspect that you are right but it is strange Ryan is using his contacts in the press again to get headlines with no difficult questions to answer.

You are right to detect that Ryan is no longer a hero of mine and that I consider he is one of us now, a supporter, having left the club in safe hands.

Are the Belles just the barmaids having a laugh?

. Presumably a belly laugh!

You may have seen this, the longer version of the latest Press interview, and to me it only reinforces the need to take him at his word:
