KDB the diamond was more because we almost always had 4 CMs on the pitch. When one of the 4 was unavailable we immediately reverted to a 4-3-3, often with Sheva on the wing.

You're probably right. At times it seemed Sheva was being put out there just because of the big transfer.

Superb I would hope after this season Jose reassesses his views on Ramires

Mr C just read the Telegraph article and it all sounds promising.

Apart from the bit where Jose hints at a Matic-Ramires CM partnership next season

Mr C I really don't think so. If we buy a striker who can slot in and lead our attack from the off next season, we will win more. Whether we play better football, I don't know. But we will win more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree with this, I think a very good striker will make a huge difference. And the football leading up to the strikers getting the ball against Norwich was actually good, and have been good all season. We have never really reverted to the lumps like we did on 06/07 season to Drogba, maybe in a couple of games. So if we start scoring from those opportunities, then it will be good winning football, with fewer people complaining.

I agree with Mr C more direct winger with an end product instead of Willian would help but that is being very picky. It is one of the last positions we should be looking to improve. It would be getting to the point where you're trying to find the perfect player for each position which isn't really necessary.

Also I found the Cech-Courtois bit interesting. Looks like he will be back.

If I was Cech I wouldn't mind having a relaxing/rest year, and picking up a PL medal (which I think we should be winning next season). And then go on to another big club, refreshed.

I see Courtois as our next Captain. I don't like a Goalie being one but he's got that arrogance

G Nev did a bit of analysis on him last night. Said you dont see goalies nowadays come out like Courtois did last week and claim the ball cleanly like he did. tbf he's right. Most leave it to their defenders. I havent seen any like that come to think of it in the PL. Might be wrong. Could be good to have that ability in the PL with the amount of crosses and longballs that are played in this league.

Was he smiling at Carragher much ?

Carragher pretty much laid into his own team though. Specially Johnson. Johnson then went on twitter and

It helps being 6'4" and built like a chithouse.

Gerrard will now be playing 3 games in 8/9 days in Brazil.
He can't play 2 in 8. He has zero discipline. Never had it.
Yet the pundits will get Boners over a couple of Hollywood long balls again

This new team has got a long way to go before they reach the level of Mourinho's first team. Defensively they're spot on in most games. Offensively they are poor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
JM's first team scored 72 goals in both title winning seasons. One game to go we have 69.
JM's first team conceded 15 & 22. One game to go it's 26.

Really isn't much of a difference.

Gotta like Bony if we could prize him away from swans....he really is of the Drogba mould

Remy I always thought was utterly wasted at QPR & couldn't understand why he got loaned out

Michu was utterly brilliant last term, & has been injured most of this...I'm not sure where we sit with him..

posted on 6/5/14

problem with Remy is that he'd need to be the main striker to really flourish. he's decent but good enough to be the focal point of our attack less convinced

Bony could be another case of biggest fish in a small pond, want to see how he does next year

I am not a fan of Michu. He is so slow and is the kind of striker that would seriously annoy me, he doesn't seem to offer anything other than a decent goal return.

Gazza

To my mind he's an attacking midfielder at best....we should not be looking to buy him to be a main striker at any price
