I would be very happy. But he'll never come to us.

Who do you think we will end up with?
Martinez seems a decent guy but hes hardly gonna leave Everton
Think we'll end up with either De Boer or Pochet.... the southampton guy dont know enough about either to have a preference, I just hope we get it done early and back him for a change.

Can't see him leaving Everton after a year, especially when he's done so well. He's not exactly coming into a desireable work environment by coming to us is he? At least at Everton he knows he doesn't have a trigger happy chairman looking over his shoulder
Tottenham are reportedly planning an approach for Roberto Martinez as they look to test Everton's resolve following the club's failure to qualify for the Champions League.
why would he leave Everton now?
The media
mmm..not sure about Benitez. When he sees our squad size of shiite he would be chopping and changing every game.
Am still not even sure what Style of football he is acclaimed for. We need an identity and a recognized way of playing. Could be wrong but don't think Benitez is the man to deliver that. None of the teams he has managed have left an impression on me.
Yes I would be happy but it's ridiculous to believe such a thing would happen. Didn't he turn down Liverpool to remain at Wigan?
Martinez to leave Everton for Spurs...why would he?
I want somebody to spend some time and effort on our defences, even if it takes a year or two. We need to build from there...this is how Arsenal have been consistently in the top four for 20 years and we did it just twice.
We have to stop believing 'we'll score more than you'...Liverpool have ably demonstrated that doesn't work this term.
Is George Graham still alive?

How have they demonstrated it doesn't work when they're in a title race, and had won 11 games in a row prior to the last 2 games?
I mean I get what you're saying about the defence but you can't really say it's not been working for Pool.

I agree, which is why I was pisssssd off when Levy pulled the trigger on AVB at the first sign of trouble, and effectively undone the good work AVB did on our defence by recruiting someone that pays no attention to building from the back
Arghhhh, only @ Spurs
Thoughts?**
Spurs as deluded as ever if they think they are gonna take Martinez away from Everton..same goes for Everton players
Unusual for the Times to get into gutter red top drivel??? I cant see Martinez moving but nor am I convinced it makes Spurs 'as deluded as ever'? Martinez is a great manager with huge potential for bigger and better things and would welcome him to WHL but he strikes me as a man of integrity and would like to see if he could create a legacy at Everton.

"Hi Roberto"
"Hi"
"You know that club that you recently moved to, the one that's slightly better than Spurs?"
"Yep, you mean the one with stability where the last manager was in position for years until he made the decision to move on?"
"Yes, that's the one"
"The one where I've only been here for a year and received huge amounts of praise for our performances throughout the season?"
"Yeah that's it. We wondered if you fancied swapping it to come to Spurs?"
"errrm"
"We can offer lots of incentives. We used to have quite a few world class players. Our preference is to sell them for lots of money once they get really good though"
"uh, ok"
"And we'll offer you a contract for say, 3-4 years probably. And we can more or less guarantee that we'll honour AT LEAST the first 6 months of that, until we get ideas above our station"
"Where do I sign?!"
Welcome to White Hart Lane Roberto!!!
Martinez to Spurs
Moyes back to Everton???
I wish!
No way he'll leave Everton after only a year, they took a chance on him when Wigan were relegated and he seems a decent guy.
My preference of those available was and remains:
1. Van Gaal - sadly no longer an option
2. De Boer - I like his preferred formation and he brings a winning, team based attitute
3. Pochettino- Good prem experience but I think it's a year too early to tell what he can really do.
I'd be delighted to have Roberto Martinez as our manager, but doubt it will happen. He'll see Everton as the better chance of getting into the top 4 IMO.
I do hope De Boer is willing to be our manager but whoever takes over needs to sort out our sh*te defence for a start.
He won't leave Everton and not should he.
In a dream world, Martinez comes in, we sell Soldado, Lamela & Rose and we nab Baines & Mirallas from Everton and Lukaku from Chel$ki..
A guy can dream
Spurs would be a turn off to someone like Martinez due to the way we treat managers. He is a good fit at Everton because there is a mutual trust between owner and manager there, just like there was at Wigan.
Just stick to chasing FDB, Pochettino, Poyet or possibly Laudrup.
The story is sadly completely incorrect.
I would like martinez respectful manager who is someone you can be proud of on and off the pitch. His teams play good football and somebody that would be long term.
Sadly it aint gonna be him.
