The much part, maybe. But no question over the better player right now. If you tried to debate then there's no hope
But would you want a somewhat injury plagued CB/DM to replace a CM/RAM that's got baggs of potential and already performing week in week out on the biggest stage
Probably not!
He's not performing week in week out though, still inconsistent.
And when Javi looks to be first choice ahead of Hummels and Boateng just now then there's no argument.
But you can twist things like you usually do.
You've fallen quite a bit when even lrf shows up your nonsense twisting.
It's not twisting anything, Atletico don't need a CB and Saul is a key player, starting week in week out. Wasn't long ago you were saying he's probably better than Koke! But if you want to change your mind that's fine.
Not to mention him being inconsistent is pretty inaccurate
You twisted the way you said it, giving an overly negative view of Javi and an overly positive view of Saul. Like you always twist.
It's not inaccurate. First couple games he was poor. In a couple of the more recent games you can question, what's he contributed? He's part of a strong team. He doesn't contribute offensively consistently at all though. Top class on his day, that's not every week though obviously. He still needs to improve. Passing probably more than anything.

Saul isn't in the team to be a key attacking player he's in because he's consistently on his game getting in the oppositions faces and giving the platform for Koke and YFC to join Griezmann and the CF. He's naturally a DM, his attacking influence is limited to a few moments but that's not what he's there to do, barring Godin, Luis and Koke there aren't any more consistent performers through a game for Atletico, he's one of the first names on the team sheet for a reason.
So he's in cm and on the wing to be a Cattermole? He's not a natural dm for me, strong defensively but I see him more like Khedira, he likes to break forward. So not a natural dm for me.
But even dms, especially any midfielder considered to be top class, have to contribute going forward in one sense or another. Getting in the opposition faces doesn't make up for sloppy passing and poor decisions on the ball. If he just sat and did the easy thing in possession you'd say fair enough, he doesn't. He's obviously shown he has ability going forward. But he's not showing that every week at all. Very definition of inconsistent
Deal. My first ever foreign signing in this league. It only took a year!
