Don't the Football League have to agree?
And how many teams?
That will be the next stage, Marcy.
so it's no different than the reserves but with a 'League 3' name?

First season, but after that it will start to integrate with league 2 and the conference
I misread sorry - I thought it said there will be no relegation and promotion
Dyke: top 4 PL clubs last season, only 28% of league starts by English players. This season that is down to 23% among same 4 clubs
On work permits, Commission wants a cap on 2 non-EU players per squad. Players on overseas visas should not be allowed below the Premier.
On the face of it this is pretty exciting.
But I honestly fear that this could be an absolute disaster and run a lot of smaller clubs out of business!
English clubs will fall behind if he thinks the work permit rules are too strict.
If anything they are too strict as any player going to be signed would be contributing tens of thousands to the economy. Rejecting work permits for footballers is ridiculous.
Shame there won't be a possibility for promotion to the Championship. It would be quite interesting to see many managers being embarrassed by their youth teams out performing costly imports.

Disagree with this. Don't see the negative impact on smaller clubs, only positives.
Have Arsenal B already set their sights on 4th place?
A lot of good managers are found in Spain because of the B team system.
Strategic loan partnerships also recommended.
8 Homegrown requirement increasing to 13 would be interesting.

There'll always be a downside for someone. A lot of lower league clubs are only solvent thanks to the current loan system. Any shift in supply of loanees will hit people hard.

But in this system there will be a lot of players leaving big clubs with a lot of lower league experience for free. Will benefit smaller clubs greatly.
This is just a massive opportunity for BT/Sky. Much more interest in League 1/2 with reserve PL teams in them I would think. Could result in increased distribution of money for teams in those divisions.

Initially my point of view on this was exactly the same as yours.
Having dug a little deeper and listened to the views of people more in the loop than myself, I've changed my mind.
It makes a World of sense for the Prem teams to go along with this, the lower down you get however, it really does leave a lot of clubs who have to run on a shoestring to be swept away with the tide, as it were.
I hope I'm proven wrong though.
It could be ridiculous though if you have like two clubs top of League One and a third place club who are like 30pts behind become Champions, but I doubt that will happen.

Agree with this. Lower league teams are going to draw far more away crowds with Premiership B teams. Whats more the quality of facilities/pitches are also going to improve at the lower levels.
It would be good if they could be promoted to the Championship imo. Abit like LaLiga.
