It could be ridiculous though if you have like two clubs top of League One and a third place club who are like 30pts behind become Champions, but I doubt that will happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The B team will still be champions.
Hard to see an under 21 squad winning League 1 tbh.
Barcelona B are currently 3rd in the Spanish equivalent of the Championship
They haven't discussed 'A' teams using 'B' team players during the season. That is interesting. Can a team play its B team in cup early rounds? Can a player get promoted to A team outside the transfer window?
Can a player out long term injured play for the B team to get fitness?
I hope they play in smaller stadiums
Laughable. They pass a ridiculous rule which means Premier League clubs can buy all the best youngsters for next to nothing, and now because of this, they don't get enough games and rot in the Academy's. The FA loves the Premier League, not England.
About time this has been introduced. Can only see benefits for the national team. so instead of a few youngsters going out on loan to lower league teams they can play against them weekly.
Oh yay, British football is going to become even more of a monopoly.
Pathetic FA.
As it stands, one of the cancers blighting the modern football pyramid is the "farming" of players by the larger clubs. Current records have some clubs with upwards of 70 players on their books, with most out on loans. This inflates the market and is the root cause of the economy of dependency by the smaller clubs on the loan system.
That's why the top clubs are rooting for this.

I think it's a great idea. As has been said above, the lower league teams will get greater attendances for fans of PL teams wanting to see their B team play. Also, the opportunity for televising these in turn gives more prospect of cash for lower league teams.

I know but when it was only on the Arsenal board a minute ago I couldn't. Seems board bans don't stretch to multiboarded articles
Let's get some more lower league fans on this thread. I don't think this idea will go down that well.

Fack off Dave
Bets?
The turnover of players from B teams is going to be great, so the chances of B teams dominating League 1 is almost impossible.
The players developed by PL clubs in B teams will in the main leave the club before they are 21. The difference between now, though, is they will have a lot of lower league experience, which will benefit clubs in league 1 and 2, who can pick these players up for free.
People seem to ignore the fact that lots of lower league clubs are in financial difficulty, over the last few years it is increasingly an issue. B teams won't increase the problem. As said, they will infact offer increased security to smaller clubs.
So you could, in theory, have the entire of League 1 being full of Prem B sides and to gain promotion to the Championship you have to take the top 4 from League 2 for auto-places with 12 clubs having a playoff for the remaining two places? That'd be a long season.
Massively increased revenue through this system for the lower league clubs, what they need to do though is limit how much of it in to the "b" teams.
They should also remove the ban on teams getting in to the championship..
Also how will ot be decided who can and can't have one? How will it effect the u21 league and cups? Should the b trams be allowed to compete in the fa trophy?! We have all heard how easy the league has beenbfor liverpool due to no cups! Surely they will walk the leagues every season with no cups to play....
Another point I agree with DJ. These players will be able to be "scouted" much more easily by the lower league teams who can look to pick them up when they are released by their parent club.
Why would it be a problem for lower league clubs someone explain?
IS this only to be open to Prem sides? Or can a Championship side have a B team? Is their B team automatically disbanded on relegation from the Prem/Champ?

I just said on another thread that the B clubs should get none of any potential TV revenue and only minimal revenue from tickets.
Insert, I am sure there will be a 'B' team cup. But in general league 1 and 2 clubs do not play that many cup games.
