B team league going forward...

forget the last 3 words - what a mess!

I would be surprised if it's a 20 team league, especially without cups to play that's not many games in a season, it would also be odd to have a 20 team league sandwiched between multiple layers of 24 team leagues..

The proposal is for a 20team league, insert.

Squads will have to have 20 HG players, with no more than 3 over 21s in a match day squad.

==

Will Fabio Borini finally find his level as 3 of the over 21 players allowed?

Hmm, won't promoted conference teams then trim their squads considering they will play 8 less games, then need to re-inflate their squads following promotion from that tier?

It's only a proposal at the moment but that's a strange wrinkle in the league structure I hope they iron out..

Also this b team idea won't be worth much if they only get to play 38 games? (unless they get.to compete for the youth trophy, and I personally think they should be allowed to compete for the fa trophy too)

Can loanees from a senior team play for the B team, if for example the senior side are playing against his parent club?

Some would argue 38 games is an over long season for a squad of under 21s. Don't want burn out, do we?

Overheard :
"Why would Premier League clubs operating a B-team also want to send coaches and players on loan to a feeder club?"

"The review also calls for a ban on non-European Union players outside of the top flight "

Just stupid.

What happens if UKIP win, then there can be no English players in the lower leagues!

I'm yet to read the comments, but how are they going to decide whose B teams go into it?

Money Talks.

it should really be very simple to implement, if only they spend a bit of time thinking logically, something obviously beyond the FA.

every club has a b/reserve team, this can obviously include first team players returning from injury, or not included in the first 11 + bench for the current match.

each B league consists of the same teams as the A teams league.
ie all the premiership teams have a premiership B, league 1 have a league 1 B. etc.

all B teams play at the same time as the A team, in reverse. ie, in the premiership, Liverpool are playing man city @ anfield, therefore the B teams of Liverpool and man city are also playing, @ the Etihad.

to avoid policing / safety issues, etc B team matches are either behind closed doors, or strictly limited to a fixed number of tickets, available to home fans only.

there are no relegations/promotions from B team failure/success, they are always in the B league corresponding to the first teams league.

there can still be a B league winners trophy/medals to provide for competitiveness.

there can also be a 'b league' league cup. maybe even a b league fa cup, although to avoid team 'doping' in the later stages, any appearances in the main fa cup should bar participation of that player in the b version. some lower league teams may not have enough players to field a full team this way, there may be exemptions in those cases.

You are talking about a reserve league. This is about putting young English players into competitive football.

Those commenting on here, who believe this will in any way benefit lower league clubs, clearly don't support one.

This League 3 will be a disaster for the game in England.

I think this is a very good idea.

I support a team lower than a lower league team. I support a non league team.

There are huge benefits for lower league teams, and it shouldn't be overlooked that many lower league teams are struggling in the current format and English league football needs to move forward.

Can see it being a disaster for league clubs and I don't think it will help the England team at all

Unless the FA are trying to see some of the FL92 fade into obscurity (you could argue for a small nation we have too many teams) ... I can't dee what their motivation is

What are the huge benefits?

Why will it be a disaster?
