Have never watched him play. Can he do it on a cold Tuesday night in Stoke? That's what I want to know.
If Vermaelen leaves, we have to replace him with a centre back. It's all well and good having a player who can cover every position, but he can't cover every position at once.
In truth, the club could do with two new centrebacks if Vermaelen leaves.
Not played RB all season and ACON are the big question marks I have over signing him.
He seems to play RWB or RM more than RB, is his defending good enough to step up to Arsenal?
Missing him every other year in January is hardly ideal. Remember how Toure used to come back facked?
He's hot property and rated as one of the best up and coming fullbacks in Europe.
The dangers of going like-for-like with Sagna?
Well whatever way you slice it, in-spite ofthe French top flight undeniably improving quality-wise over the last few seasons, it's no way near the level of the Premier League in terms of technicality, physicality & intensity.
Also, worth baring in mind that Aurier has, for the better part of his Toulouse career played pretty much as a wingback.
He's got a serious engine on him and is very effective going forward, which is brilliant. If he were to move to Arsenal, he'd HAVE TO strike a balance between using his undeniable offensive assets and doing the fundamental (defensive) work that a Premier League fullback needs to be on the money with.
Ability wise Aurier looks a real talent. He has no shortage of admirers. He's said before though that Arsenal are his preferred team, which is encouraging.
It'd be interesting to see if he's still an Arsenal fanboy if Chelsea (for example) decided they'd offer him 100k pw.
What about Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle, hes french, 28, would cost maximum of £10M.
Any takers?

I'd be over the moon if we managed to get this guy. Insane talent.
What are your thoughts on our other transfer target? Drmic. Is it me or does he resemble a cross between Suarez & RvP?

Was just about to say that. Not a bad player, and often has started ahead of Sagna for France. But at 28 he will be here for like four years? I want Jenkinson to be given time as well, at the moment he doesn't look like he's good enough, but he needs games to improve and someone young like Aurier, that could mean there's more competition for both players.

Good player and Prem savy, which is a big plus. But he's seriously rash in the challenge (imo).
Potentially Aurier has it in him to be top drawer (again imo) and in this instance I'd be more inclined to go with my gut instinct and go for the young Ivorian firebrand renegade Tuscan raider!

As I understand it, Drmić was/is on the brink of a move to Leverkusen.
Not sure if it's 'official'. I've really like what I've seen of the young Swiss goal-getter this season. He's really stood out in the Bundesliga playing for a fairly average team.
What happened to that Corchia? He was being talked last season like Aurier is this season
Oh he's no longer flavour of the month. It's all about Aurier now, until next season of course.
We should make serious enquiries into De Sciglio. He's one who'll go far.

He moved to Lille in January. Funnily enough his contract was not officially recognized by the French financial authorities & the French FA got involved & did all parties concerned a severe physical discourtesy! Lille were up sh! t creek financially. Corchia has since returned back to Sochaux & has suffered a series of 'compound nervous breakdowns'. As funny as it sounds, it's pretty bloody tragic. He's a talented lad and I hope he sorts his head out because he as half way to paradise. Now he's the sad owner of a mind as wrong as a bent hedge.
Seriously? I was completely unaware of all of that. I hope he's okay. Mental illness is evil. When you have a broken leg you have a broken leg. When you have a broken mind you have a broken world.
Mattia De Sciglio really is a serious talent I think. Only 21, but has the jaded, listless defensive appetite of a 50 year old General!
hat an engine this boy has Great leg speeds!
He's already featuring for Italy at full international level now and has had scores of women wax lyrical about his big donged dalliances! Fair play.
I really do think though that Milan will not let him go.
Seriously? I was completely unaware of all of that. I hope he's okay. Mental illness is evil. When you have a broken leg you have a broken leg. When you have a broken mind you have a broken world.

Yeah, he's on the mend, or at least that was line given by the lads agent. At first it was all played down, but he was supposed to have been caught behaving erratically in and around the Lille training ground. For me he was one of the better rightbacks in France last campaign, probably the best. He's 23 now, so there's time for him to get himself back on track.
Milan need money. They will consider a big money offer for a right back, no doubt about it.
They're in a weird place right now. I think they've got the foundations of a pretty good squad. There's certainly potential in Montolivo, Honda and Poli as a midfield trio. And with Balotelli and Sharaawy they have some serious attacking talents.
I think a good manager could take them places.

I've heard that Seerdorf will remain in place and be given a fair few Euros to do a rebuilding job in Milan this summer. Like you say, the foundations are decent, but there's a lot of ork to be done squad wise and a few of that team need shipping out!

If he's mentally ill he's not suited for the Premier League for a few years yet.
I've seen enough of nervous breakdowns up close to say that being on the mend is the same as me saying I'm approaching the age of forty. It's true, but it's an awfully long way off (will hit that age in 2033).
However, mental illnesses are multi-faceted. I'm assuming his nervous breakdown was caused by depression, but if he's bipolar, for example, the associated behaviours mean that he's best kept welllllll away from tabloid hacks in the Sun.

You're right. I'm looking at their squad and you have to ask if the likes of Robinho are doing much. Streamlining a squad is about removing attitudes more than simply cutting down on wages.
There's one player who I love on FIFA called Charles Aranguiz. Very mobile, high stamina and a pretty tasty passing range. He was the perfect player for me. Naturally that's only FIFA, but if I were Milan I'd look at him as an excellent acquisition on the cheap with a large potential. That's the sort of player they need to focus on. They're better off trying the lesser known than attempting to buy the bigger players.

Absolutely. It didn't help that Lille's flambuoyant chairman promised him the world and then p!ssed in his face.
Lille are a great local club, but their chairman is a right character, getting himself in all sorts of bother shooting his mouth off.
And then all that business of him being subject to a potential prison sentence(which he's since been let off) for financial-irregularities and racist dancing... You couldn't make it up!
