He is only a right-back, not going to be difficult to replace him, he is 31 now only 1 or 2 years left at the top
Gazidis said publically last week that it was/is obvious that Sagna is leaving in the summer for some time. He turned down the clubs last offer many weeks ago (2 or 3 months) and Gazidis said that was tha. He's expected to remain in the Premier League, sadly.
Great servant to the club.
It will be sad to see him go.
Such a solid and experienced player.
I'm very surprised we are allowing him to leave
It will be facking annoying to see him at City

He can also play as CB and do a damn good job of it
I'm very surprised we are allowing him to leave

I don't think his wage was the issue, apparently Arsenal were prepared to bump him up from 80 pw to 100k. But he was firm that he wanted at least a 3 year deal. So in essence, you could have a guy in the winter of his career and possibly on the decline, on big money. Still, sad because I think he could prove a tricky act to replace, least of all because of the versatility he offers in defensive positions.

it's sad from a sentimental point of view, he's been a great player for us and loyal. but in reality he's old and on the decline, probably 1 more year left at the top maybe 2. so 3 years on 100k a week... glad we didn't agree to that. 'giving players whatever they want' is not the best way to run a club.
It's funny that Chelsea and City are going after our freebies though... FFP is a beeyatch

He will be very hard to replace
Sagna, per, koc, gibbs when all playing together have been excellent

I've been dreading this since he refused our offer a few months ago. Massive loss IMO. I hope Jenko grabs the opening and runs with it.

He has been great and unbelievably consistent however he never offered that much going forward. There are players out there.

Sagna main job was to defend and there are hardly any wingers or left backs that got the better of him.
He was more than useful going forward
AURIER thoughts?

Standout rightback in France. Offensively a bit of a beast. He's played the best part of his career at Toulouse as a wingback, so might take some adjusting to a traditional rightback where his defensive responsibilities will be put to the test.
Highly rated, supposedly versatile, although I've only ever seen him play on the right.
Arsenal offered him what he was worth to us, he obviously wanted more. Last season was by far his worst, but that was an anomaly, so let that slide. This season he's looked like his old self, his crossing has also improved quite a bit. But you can see he is slowing down a bit, still he's better than a lot of RB's in Europe and his versatility is priceless.
Think it's time to go for another up and coming right back, we really need someone in Dani Alves's mould but for that we do need a solid DM to make up for the defensive frailty.
With a good pre-season, Jenko could very well look forward to his breakout season.
Don't trust Jenkinson just yet. I do wonder sometimes if he's going to ever be our no 1 RB, makes some real silly mistakes.

Bit of a pain in the arris, Sagna leaving. Really we want to be strengthening the squad, not replacing players this summer.
Don't like what I have seen of Aurier, was truly awful yesterday in the first half, didn't look like he could defend for shît. He is a winger, not a RB from what I have seen, a poor mans Glen Johnson. Plus he will miss big chunks of the season to play in the ACON. We all remember how Kolo used to return facked.
