Saints are in a tricky situation.
If they sell to us (or anyone really) it makes them look weak to both their fans and their players.
If they don't then VVD is an outcast and his value drops.
Not easy to reconcile.
Come on already brendan gave us a taste for trannies!!
I don't see Southampton letting him rot in the stands. It just doesn't make financial sense to them.
I can see them refusing to sell to us though. Widely reported the club (and fans too) are very angry about the tapping up scandal. Can see Saints trying to save face by selling him to Chelsea instead, even if they miss out on a few million.

This.
I could also see City bidding for him unfortunately. Chelsea need players but surely a CB isn't the priority. A CB for City makes more sense.
I can see Southampton fecking us over. Can't really blame them tbh.

Southampton are prepared to let Van Dijk rot in the stands rather than sell him to us, reports the Express.
Thing that publication rather has it in for us after the constant stream of Coutinho to Barca articles.

I don't consider that Tory rag fit to wipe my arris with personally.
Do they still have Diana's death on the front page?
That rag is utterly obsessed with it
Occasionally. They're now more interested in the latest bunch of royal brats... Can't believe people give a phook about some other person's rich kid in an outfit which probably cost more than their monthly salary. People are strange.

I don't think City are in the market for another CB having just spent nearly £200m on their defence & keeper. Chelsea might bid for VVD but now knowing the situation, maybe they will not bid anywhere near what Saints want.
Not sure about the Celtic sell on clause but surely they could have a say and insist Saints sell for the highest fee or face legal action.

Great business.
Don't know why fans are getting so upset over it. I haven't bought a jersey in years. Never really wanted to be a walking advertisement since I became an adult.
I'll give it 5 years before fans start to look like Ferrari drivers.

Perhaps mindless Tory but not general Tory. It's more of a UKIP paper for me, which is fortunately where most of the mindless racist bigot Tories facked off to.
How does £5m/year compare to other clubs?
I think United are talking with Tinder for £12/year.
