look on the bright side lads, at least we're not Chelsea!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And we flogged Sakho for 26 mil
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Have we?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah still not done yet.

Was having his medical at 3, still think it will be done. Spurs announced Llorente at 11:15 and they agreed a deal at 8am so it can take some time.

He's still with us according to the LFC site team list.

And none of the transfer lists by the BBC or anyone includes him as a transfer.

They're still waiting on that one though, I suspect it will go through but as of now there's been no word that it's either done or fallen through.

Very much hope it is done.

Not an amazing window, but far from disastrous. The only criticism you could really level is that we didn't get a CB. The funds were definitely there, so this is down to Klopp, who we can only assume has merely stuck to his word that he'll only buy players that he genuinely wants, and nothing else. He clearly thinks that no one was available who was an upgrade on Lovren. Or maybe he knows that we're going back in for VVD in January, possibly already have some kind of unofficial agreement in place with Southampton?????

I doubt Southampton would make an agreement with us to take him in January when they have to re-integrate him into the squad, get him match fit and then get him gelling with Wesley Hoedt. That'll take a fair bit of time, by the time they get up to speed it'll damn near be January.

I think Gomez will play a fair bit at centre back in the league cup and FA cup, who knows maybe he could have a breakout season there or maybe not.

Did we manage to shift Primarkovic? Or is today's task finding some unsuspecting Spanish club to take him?

We did not. Hopefully a Spanish club is willing to take him on loan. Perhaps Valencia? They've been shocking in the transfer market a couple years now and need to replace Nani.

Good window for me.

We have added quality and depth in the wide attacking area that proved our undoing in Jan/Feb of last season.

We have much more depth at full back now on both sides.

Signing Keita, albeit for next season, is a big deal for us as he looks genuinely top drawer and perfect for the PL.

Solanke looks a steal.

If we hadn't have messed up VVD it would have been damn near perfect, shame that happened, but the good news is he didn't go to our rivals which many thought would happen. It's inevitable he will leave Saints sooner or later and we should still be front and centre when he does.

You can't build a squad to challenge for everything overnight.

Klopp has had 3 transfer windows now and the squad looks way better than it did when he took over.

Another two and I reckon we will be ready for anything.

For now, a top 4 place and a cup win is well within this groups capabilities but probably not winning the title.

I think it's been okay.

The squad is much stronger than it was this time a year ago.

Defence
Robertson offers balance to the left hand side that we missed last season. TAA and Gomez bolster our defence a bit and both look like they have quality. A centre half would have been ideal and it is frustrating klopp didn't look to an alternative to VVD but I don't think one player will come in and fix us.

Midfield
Ox makes us a deeper squad and offers versatility, overpaid but the crazy fees on top of English premium was at play. Keita joins next summer and to lock him down now instead of getting into a bidding war with others next summer is great business.

Attack
Salah we can already see will offer us a lot, and it means defences have to worry about searing pace in both sides now. Solanke looks a talent and looks like he'll get some game time too with origi going on loan.

All In all not the window most of us expected but I still think it was solid. I'd give it a 7-7.5/10

Fair assessments there really. VVD would've made it a 9/10 for me.

Yeah was wondering whether this window has set the foundations for a future Lamar move. Just depends how much competition we'd have to fight to get him in future windows.

One thing is for sure though, the pull of Klopp can't be underestimated. Keita, AOC, Lemar and even VVD seem to all want to move to us over other clubs which makes a nice change from the likes of Sanchez and Salah the first time around.

Is it Julien Laurens? He knows his stuff if it's him.

I did hear a rumour Lemar rejected Arsenal in the hope we came back in for him, though I think he'll make the switch to Barca today personally.

It's ok. Not getting a CB in is terrible but it's ok. Hopefully we're back in for VVD in Jan.

At least we addressed LB problem and Moreno rising from the ashes like a phoenix is only better for us.

Net spend around £30m in this crazy market and we addressed some issues from last season. The Committee has done alright.

Once Coutinho is intergrated back into the side our matchday squad should look something like:

Mignolet
TAA/Clyne Matip Lovren Moreno/Robertson
Henderson
Can Coutinho
Salah Firmino Mane

Bench:
Karius; Gomez; Wijnaldum; Sturridge; Milner; Ox; Lallana

Not bad.
