No Henderson again just saying.

We gotta keep Can in the holding role.

No Coutinho either.

Rivals all playing each other today. Could end up back above Arsenal on GD/goals scored. Can't see Chelsea getting humped by United though.

I think Arsenal need to lose 2-0 and Chelsea 4-0.

Big chance to make up ground next week....

Man City v Arsenal and Chelsea v United on Sunday.
Hopefully City win and a draw in those.

Have to beat West Ham first obviously and Maribor before that.

We've had a terrible start but it might not look at bad at all, let's hope we can get the points next week.

Morning all

Was hoping the above would happen last Saturday and we have managed to do so.

Enjoy todays games boys

We had two players in the holding role yesterday.

It’s like some people don’t even watch our games or listen to the manager.

Henderson easily could have done what either Can or Wij did yesterday.

Whether Can is better than him when it’s a single holding player is debatable. It’s not clear cut.

Can has more drive and is better at using his strength. But he’s also not as consistent a passer, wants more touches on the ball that the position often requires and gives away more free kicks.

We scored from a corner

Actually we scored from 2. One ours, one theirs

Good to see us at long last scoring a couple of goals from corners of our own, it's been so long since we have done so. Now one against Huddersfield and another yesterday.
Yesterdays it looked like initially like we had been rewarded for an awful corner but watching it back it was clearly a training ground routine.

Salah deliberately plays it low to Mane at the near post who steps over it and causes confusion amongst their defence which leads to the goal.

Nice to see us trying something different for once and goes to prove you don't need to be a big side to get goals from set pieces. We have not been good enough in this regard.

LFC with Coutinho P9 W2
LFC without Coutinho P9 W7

Also we have scored 14 goals and conceded 1 when Henderson hasn't played

Sell em both

posted on 5/11/17

I think we need to try and get out of the pattern of selling players and build the squad.

I would have sold both Sturridge and Moreno but they are both contributing, so I would have been wrong.

Man Utd fans would have sold Fellaini, Young, Rojo to name but three. Again they all contributed last season and again this in the former twos case with Rojo injured.

The more depth we have, the better.

Ings scored a hattrick for the u23's

posted on 5/11/17

Shame that he probably won't get a first team outing until the FA Cup 3rd round. Even then we may not want to cup tie him if we want to sell him this coming window.

posted on 5/11/17

I don’t think Ings will be sold in January.

A loan move to the Championship to get some proper football in his legs makes sense though, then if he’s done well and stayed fit then have a look at him in pre-season next summer.

Ings is 25

posted on 5/11/17

I dont think Ings or his agent would like a championship move. That's a bit of a risk for his career I reckon.

He needs a prem move to a side with no or struggling strikers. We should loan him to Everton and I actually mean that. They're zero threat, he wouldn't be able to play against us and you never know he may take some points off our rivals. Bournmouth would be a shout if he'd go south. Afobe is a terrible finisher, Defo is getting on, and King runs around a lot. He does have a bit about him.

If the club want to help Ings then we should offer that move and pay the wages. Maybe put in a guaranteed minutes clause but that's tough as I don't think any Prem side would do that.

I don't think he'll play a Prem game for us again and to be brutally honest I wouldn't want him to. I'd rather give the minutes to Woodburn.

posted on 5/11/17

That's sounds like we can just choose where he goes but I'd like to think at least one prem team would have a look at him.

posted on 5/11/17

I think a Prem loan is unrealistic.

I don’t think any PL club are going to start a player who hasn’t played for two years, especially the kind who are desperate for a striker in January. It’s too risky.

When you have been out as long as Ings has, then you have to start again.

He’s just scored his 4th of the day by the way.

5-0 against Bristol C in the PL Cup.

Just need two more City goals, and we jump above Arsenal 👍
