I think the forwards section is almost spot on accurate
easier to quantify goals and assists though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
4 of Sterlings 7 assist this season:
- Pass to Can who's long range shot deflects in against Chelsea
- Pass to Coutinho and his excellent long range shot goes in against Southampton
- Pass to Hendo against City and you get the theme
- Pass to Coutinho again against City another long range goal.
Wonderful assist from Sterling.
There's no goal if the pass isnt made.
maybe that's why Sterling didn't make the list Kash

They rate him very highly for some reason
I remember reading something where they referred to him as the prodigal son
Kash is the king of making things up.
Stats are useful, no more, no less.
I have never claimed they are the be all and end all.
Only idiots ignore them completely though.
The kind of people that make stuff about players feigning injury.
So sterling for 40-50 million yes please

If someone wants to give us £40m for Sterling I'd take it but I don't trust the money to be spent wisely!
I think we would end up regretting selling him.
I can see why people look at £40m and think great deal, but I think he will improve and be worth more than that one day, while in our current position we would benefit more from keeping our best players than by getting cash that we won't be able to use to buy better.

That's only any good if he signs a new deal, we can't allow him to wind his contract down and leave for a reduced fee next summer or for free the year after!
also if he doesn't want to be at the club then thats that.
Have you seen the way he's pleayed this year
Not every player knuckles down like Suarez did last season when he didn't get his move

I am of the opinion that if we get 40-50m then that will be the biggest amount he will.ever be sold for. He is very good and full of potential but I can't see him ever reaching Bale, Suarez levels. I can see him reaching Walcott levels but then again no one knows and I guess we shall see.
Doesn't mean he will be next season.
I personally expected him to drop off towards the end of this season, on the back of the World Cup and last season's meteoric rise.
A plateau was inevitable.
It's been a steeper decline because of all the contract issues but with a summer of rest I don't see why he won't be firing again next season, even if we make him stay and he feels hard done by.
There is no benefit to him playing badly for a year.
You could make a strong case for Sterling's dip in form on tactics and players around him, rather than him not playing well.
Last season he had 2 strikers in front of him, this season none for the most part. Watching him try to beat 6 defenders on his own has been painful.

Sterling has shown nothing but potential and so far has done nothing significant for us. He now implies that he is too good for us and we can't match his ambitions. I don't even want him to stay. If he does I will support him because I love the club but at this point he can feck right off.

To be fair, he was our best player from Sept- Dec. He was our only threatening player. Coutinho was poor during that time too. His drop in form seems to have coincided with all this kicking off.

agreed the timing fits
I just think there are a lot of variables to this as well
"and so far has done nothing significant for us."
He and Coutinho carried us in our title run when SAS fell off.
